I completely understand players wanting to leave us because of our transfer policy and wage structure. You don't see me bashing Cesc Fabregas, now do you? Ask yourself why.
Fabregas gave a lot to Arsenal, he was one of our best players for a number of years and was consistently one of the best midfielders in the EPL. He was patient and stayed with us even if he could have moved to teams like Real and Milan earlier. But he stayed with us, until Barcelona came knocking on the door again, and he saw that we weren't really going forward. I completely blame Wenger and the board for that.
As for that arsehole Van Persie, i wonder why we didn't see this kind of sentiment from him 2-3 years ago. Well actually i don't wonder, i know why. Because at that time he used to be an injury prone bitch that doesn't play more than half a season. We were patient with him, while many other clubs would have got rid of him by then. He waited until his injury problems were gone, while he was getting handsomely paid for the luxury of playing only half a season for 5-6 years, then when he finally sorted out his fitness, he wants to leave. He hasn't really contributed shit to Arsenal other than the last year and a half. Other than that, he was getting paid a lot of money for being a fragile injury prone bitch.

it's wenger's fault because he should be the one pressuring the board and calling for the kind of meeting VP talked about. and he didnt ask for this 2 years ago for many valid reasons. He now has the opportunity to win, either by pressuring your club to bring reinforcements or go somewhere else. But i understand why an arsenal fan would be mad at VP, but not for the reasons you mentioned, but rather the alternative of not being mad at him would be: a realization not many are ready for.
This is definitely true. I'm sure Wenger can force the board to give him more funds, but he is completely ok with working with these constraints. Unfortunately for him, neither the players nor the fans are ok with it.
I don't agree, I think the reasons I mentioned are completely valid, and if what you're saying is true, then that means Arsenal fans should hate Cesc as well. but they don't, because Cesc contributed a lot to Arsenal, but he was forced to play alongside the likes of Denilson, Diaby and co for too long. I completely understand why Cesc left, and I thank him for everything he's done for Arsenal.

see, this question again begs this one: why did arsenal keep him? it's not because arsenal operates on some nobler platform, they believed he would be good, except when good players shine the natural progression is for them to want to win, and you and i agree it's not in arsenal plans to win, so their waiting was actually their fault. if all they wanted was a player who can contribute right there & then, they should have sold him.

Cesc's age when he left is irrelevant, his contribution to Arsenal is what is relevant. If RVP leaves Arsenal this summer, he leaves without contributing much to the team over his 8 year period, that is incontestable. Unless you consider a year and a half a worthy contribution. For that, I will never remember RVP as I would Fabregas, Henry, Vieira and co. You can never compare him to Cesc who ever since 2005 has been a regular starter for Arsenal and has been on the top of the assist list almost every season.
RVP talks about winning trophies, well him being made of glass, and getting injured every season is one of the main reasons why we haven't won silverware over the years. So its not like he's completely absolved of blame when it comes to our trophy drought.

I don't blame RvP that much. Sure he was always injured but there was always that understanding that Arsenal were a top team playing for top honors. They've gotten close but these last couple years it all crumbled down. Imo it started when Fabregas was guaranteed to go to Barca. Mentality in that team went down the shitter and Wenger didn't do anything to change that but instead kept selling the rest of his players and buying shit like Gervinho, Chamakh, and Podolski.

I do not want to pass judgement on Podolski so early, but i think its a bit too harsh to categorize him with the Gervinho's and Chamakh's of the world. For me he is a significant upgrade over Gervinho.

Besides Fred, who for the most part, is pretty fair and level headed with his views on Arsenal, most fans of Arsenal I know are deluded, annoying, clueless fucks of the highest order. Wenger should have been fired a long time ago, and also the board at Arsenal these days are a fucking joke. With proper investments and a better mentality with regards to signing PROVEN players and not fucking overrated and useless garbage like Walcott, Chamakh, Podolski, etc, and they could probably still be challenging for top honours in England EVERY season.

Our biggest problem is our board really. As long as Hill-Wood, Kroenke and the rest of the gang are around, Arsenal will never be competitive again. Wenger's fault is like Deneb said earlier, that he is not pressurizing the board to change their ways, on the contrary its like he's convinced and believes in what they are doing. So unless you can get a manager that has enough leverage to actually force the board to change their ways, it won't be very sensible firing Wenger.

He is an upgrade but what exactly did Arsenal have in mind when the signed him? Never been exceptional except when playing for Germany and it's not even as if he's young.

I disagree with most of the guys here, I think Arsenal's strategy is pretty smart actually.
Arsene Wenger is creating value in his players and keeps selling them for Huge profits + as long as he's on charge of Arsenal, they will "always" qualify for the CL every season. I said that in the last few seasons when many thought they will not make it to the CL.
Arsenal's board are smart enough to realize that they can never challenge the likes of Chelsea and City with their spendings therefore it's almost impossible to win trophies, so what can they realistically do ? Keep doing what they do best (making profit in selling their players plus qualifying every season for the CL) maybe one day the likes of City and Chelsea will stop spending and Arsenal will have a shot again for the title.
