The problem is that the average football fan in the UK has no idea that those countries have picked strong squads (Brazil's looks particularly impressive) because there are hardly any UK-based players in them.

Also there is the issue of some games being played in Scotland and there is just no chance of the majority of Scots supporting a British football team.
