Chelski are playing with fire by gambling their whole season next year on winning the CL, with a decimated squad at that. Their team hasn't been able to take seriously the EPL between FA up and CL finals.

it's not like they need it. they got the cash to survive a season without it and they've got appeal because players know the investment in that team isn't going to stop. i think it's a pretty smart approach actually. they're in the final, give it 110% to win it. if they fail, they have less games next season and more time to focus on the premier league instead.

not saying they will miss the funds from the CL but it may well affect how competitive they'd be in signing big name players when Man U or Man City, or both, is the alternative.
And playing in the CL is a matter of prestige, which is what Roman has been after all these years. I agree with focusing on the CL final but with it being 2 weeks away, they could/should have made the EPL their #1 priority and scrap the FA cup final.

either way, missing out on CL is a big financial blow and FFP can only make it worse and affect how competitive they are on the market.
