bale was constantly pressed by at least two players and he did manage to beat rafael two or three times.
Whenever Tottenham faces a coach like Fergie, expect bale to be marked out of the game. If you recall, even Maicon and Zanetti couldn't mark him out when Benitez asked them to treat him just like any other player. Bale gathers players around him leaving space for lennon, modric and VDV to run the midfield like they did today.
VDV was awful today. Modric was man of the match alongside Vidic. Lennon was pretty good too and is slowly regaining his pre-injury form.
Rafael is class going forward but is shit defensively.
That used to be true before, but not so much anymore, he's shut down many a winger this season. He's still lacking a bit in his positioning, especially in dealing with balls that come behind him, but one on one, he's become a very solid defender, it isn't easy getting past him anymore.
Kenny Dalglish doesn't seem that much different to Hodgson till now Aaron, his subs today were rather uninspiring and he striked me as quite a passive manager, other than barking at his players, he didn't really do anything to try and turn things around.

He plays a 4-3-3. Pass and move rather than hoof and run. Seems to have motivated Torres to be a creative individual. We're much more fluid under Kenny. If Skrtel hadn't had a brain fart we'd probably have won.
He doesn't really need to scream at the players when Sammy Lee is paid to do it for him.
As for the subs. Wasn't much to do. I would have maybe brought on Babel, but Maxi and Kuyt were doing well. Gerrard and Cole weren't available and the match was a little more physical than Pacheco would have liked. Plus we only had 2 subs left after Agger puked his guts out at halftime.
That is true, Everton were non existent in the first half, i was shocked to see them score two goals in the second half, the second goal in particular, terrible defending.
