Tottenhams tactic of playing the ball up to Crouch for him to cushion it down for the likes of Lennon and VDV was never going to work against Vidic and Rio. Redknapp should have went from the beginning with Defoe and played the ball on the ground. Oh and Rafael had Bale for breakfast before his red card, thats the second time this season, very dissapointing stuff by Bale. Unlike Lennon on the other side who gave Evra a terrible time. Modric bossed the midfield and sprayed the ball around well, he was by far the Spud's best player today, nothing new there.

bale was constantly pressed by at least two players and he did manage to beat rafael two or three times.
Whenever Tottenham faces a coach like Fergie, expect bale to be marked out of the game. If you recall, even Maicon and Zanetti couldn't mark him out when Benitez asked them to treat him just like any other player. Bale gathers players around him leaving space for lennon, modric and VDV to run the midfield like they did today.

VDV was awful today. Modric was man of the match alongside Vidic. Lennon was pretty good too and is slowly regaining his pre-injury form.

Rafael is class going forward but is shit defensively.
