Buffon was a midfielder as a teen. I suppose it's good journalism to call him our midfield dynamo.

Chiellini was a left winger in his youth days. I suppose it's good journalism to call him our wing wizard.

Burdisso played CB his whole career. I suppose it's good journalism to call him a top class CB.

Chelsea Attempt To Lure Ex-Barcelona Sporting Director Txiki Begiristain - Report
Jul 26, 2010 4:46:00 PM

Chelsea want ex-Barcelona sporting director Txiki Begiristain to take control of their transfer policy and have made an offer to bring him to the club, according to Sport.

The former Spain international provided the platform for the Catalans' recent success as he assembled the squad that lifted every major trophy in the sport during his seven-year stay. After leaving his post this summer, a host of sides - including Rangers and Tottenham Hotspur - were believed to be keen to delve into his expertise.

Roman Abramovich is reported to handed Begiristain a deadline of September to make his decision on a switch to Stamford Bridge.

The 45-year old was understood to be keen on a sabbatical until the New Year but could cancel this plan to control player and coach recruitment with the Premier League champions.
Could be a great move actually.

Cesc closer to Barca, looks like he's going to leave this summer afterall.

Whose willing to bet that we won't sign anyone and instead will rely on samir Nasri to replace Cesc:sergio:

Yoan would be nice. I'm not sure if Bordeaux will sell him though.
Always admired him, i believe Wenger would get the best out of him, maybe more than Blanc.

In another note i was having a discussion about the EPL with some friends yesterday. It boggles my mind how people can say that Lampard is average or shit, i dunno why all the hate but to call him a shit player you have to be delusional. :wth:

Lampard indeed is a good CM with great attacking qualities, one of the few English players that has showed his quality on Champions League matches over the last few years.

I don't really like chelsea, but I have a lot of respect for Lampard. Less talented than some top players (gerrard for example), he's worked hard and become one of the most consistently excellent players in the world
