Left--------------------------------------------------------Right

-------------Torres------ New Striker(Crouch, Remy, Whoever)/Jovanovic

Jovanovic/Riera--------Gerrard-----Lucas-------------Kuyt

Agger ------------ Skrtel ----- Carra/Zorba-----Johnson

--------------------Pepe

This is with the players we have at the moment and not considering possible additions, like Figeroa, Josue, etc.
Is Riera staying? i would have sold him and kept benayoun in that case.

Also, i'm under the impression that Agger is not very good as a lb although i didn't saw liverpool play last season (bar the games against chelsea, fiorentina and atletico).

tbh i don't find that lineup something to be excited as of now, pool's situation reminds me of Juve, sadly.

Juve don't have (owners with) crippling debts.
After i made that post, i understood that Curr was talking about the bigger picture.

But Gabriel was talking about Liverpools squad and their prospects next season when he said "Liverpool's situation" so i assumed Curr was talking about the same thing.

I'd say the squads are quite similar.

yes, i was referring only about the football aspect actually.

I know juve's situation looking at the bigger picture is far more hopeful than that of liverpool.

afterall we're debt free and that's huge.

They're also very weak on some spots though, Torres could be huge next season if he stays fit but that's a big if.

Is Gerrard staying?

also, losing mascherano would be huge as lucas is not even close.

Dunno if this had been posted already, but read it carefully:

The spiralling nature of liverpool's debts is frightening when you dive deep.

They pay £110,000 worth of interest every day. That's £40m a year. When you consider they posted an operating LOSS of around £40m last year that's only getting worse.

But the scary thing is, not all of that money is owed to banks. A large amount of it is owed to Kop Cayman, the Cayman island holding company. That company is owend by Hicks and Gillet.
They are effectively borrowing money on behalf of the club from their own company, and charging 10% interest on it.
The further into debt that club goes the more money the americans get
.

They have their weaknesses and like i said with the exception of Torres and Gerrard, the squads are of similar quality.

However if one of Gerrard or Torres leaves, their squad would be considerably weakened.

I don't believe Gerrard will leave to be honest. As for Torres, if the right offer comes he probably will leave

Who do you think that right offer could be from, Fred? Real Madrid?
You see thats the problem, will the right offer even come along? Real Madrid don't need another striker, Inter Milan don't need one either, Liverpool won't sell to United and Torres won't go to City.

Only two teams left that can afford him, Chelsea, i'm not so sure if Liverpool will be willing to sell to a rival, but Chelsea need a striker and i'm sure they'll try to go for him. Barcelona is an option, if they don;t get Cesc, they might opt to play Villa on the left hand side of a 3 man attack and buy Torres and play him as the center forward.

Whats so funny?
