Well the fact he is upset to such an extent shows there was no intention, unfortunately in England players are taught to go in hard and fair as children and that is encouraged, so if you make a mistake it may cause a problem. It obviously depends on where it impacts the other player, it has to be particularly unlucky to end up like that.
Where do you draw the line though? No hard tackles? What do you define as hard? Only being able to jump for sliding tackles from the side?

An Aberdeen player got booked today for a lunging tackle when he cleanly took the ball and was nowhere near the man (the sort of tackle that no one would have batted an eye lid at 20 years ago), so I don't know why England refuses to conform with the rest of Europe.

I absolutely loved it, but if a player did the same to Arsene i would be pissed and would not accept it. So i'd have to say Cesc shouldn't have done that. But i'm glad he did(if that makes sense)

Well done, City. +REP to Tevez and Bridge for taking down that pathetic choker Terry. Every single thing that now happens to the guy is highlighted and his scandal is brought back to light, and it's glorious. Seeing Tevez and Bridge own that moron is very well deserved and I applaud the City players for fighting for Bridge. Those gentleman are helping our cause in South Africa, and so is Terry with his own idiocy.
This is just another reason to hope England is knocked out first round come June. As if there wasn't enough reason already.
