I was defending Rooney earlier in this thread, but now you're taking it way too far.
Rooney is nowhere near being the top 5 offensive players. Zlatan for one is definitely a much better player than Rooney is, he is so technically superior its not even a contest.

I wouldn't think so, players like Gascoine, Joe Cole and Ryan Giggs while they might not be better players(the exception of Giggs) are technically superior to Rooney, and thats only out of the Brits i've seen playing.

Well yesterday, surprisingly Kranjcar despite being in top form was dropped for Luka. Luka was played on the left of a 4-4-2. He was obviously rusty as he didn't influence the game much. Despite scoring the opening goal he went absent for large periods in the game. He did make a few nice touches here and there though, but overall it wasn't the best of games by him.
Kranjcar was subbed in for Modric in the last 7 minutes in the game and boy did he make an impact. Two minutes after he entered the pitch he almost scored a brilliant goal, he intercepted the ball in midfield, went past two players and unleashed a strong shot that was just saved by Robert Green.

What you could read in our newspapers: Luka scored in Tottenham victory, Luka carries Spurs to triumph, etc. They all praised him and said it was a great game after such a long layoff. They also wrote he led the counter for Defoe's goal, even though it was a 98% solo effort. Biased bastards. But that's why I have you.

Indeed, this could be very bad for Kranjcar, very unfair to him. He has been playing some very good football lately, he really should not be dropped. But Redknapp will not change tactics that have seen him achieve some very good results, so one of Luka or Kranjcar will have to pay the price for that.
Are you fucking kidding me? How can he lack determination and passion when he's won the league every year the last 7 years as the star of the team? And how the hell can you say that he can't shoot? He has one of the best shots out there. Just ask any goalkeeper who's played with him. In Sweden's NT the GK's have never seen anybody shot as good and hard as him.

Maybe Har wanted to give Niko a rest and at the same time build up Luka's fitness. I'm praying they get a shot together. If they stay fit, Tottenham will be even more dangerous than they already are. Hope Harry doesn't disappoint me.

to suggest that Joe cole is technically superior to wayne rooney, makes ANY of your other views, diluted by the massive error of judgement involved in such a war cry...How much of Rooney, and Cole, have you seen over the last 5 years???? If you asked ANY english manager who they would want, Rooney or Cole? none would say Cole. ANcelotti would swap them in a flash...Giggs isn't english. Gazza doesnt compete. I would say someone like matt le tissier equaled or bettered Gazza's technique and talent...

@the stoned junkie, i didn't say Joe Cole was a better player than Rooney. Of course he's not, and of course Ancelotti would swap them in a blink of an eye, thats not what i said at all. I said he was more technically gifted, which is true.
