It has already been played. "Liverpool" won 1-0. Dunmanway are a completely amateur non-league team from Cork. I'd never heard of them until this match was announced. Weird choice by Liverpool.

Are Ayala and Kelly any good? I don't suppose Ayala is related to Roberto Ayala?
Kelly played in the CL a couple times last season. I don't know much about Ayala only that he, Kelly, and San Jose are training with the 1st team.

A shameful referee and everyone is still convinced that the EPL is the best-league in the world :sergio:
Its not even worthy of the world modest.

Had Manchester won it, everyone would have laughed out loud at Carletto's debut claiming that it's always a pleasure to see Chel$ki losing :D

Chelsea was the better team. Rooney's goal was offside but Lampard's goal should have been disallowed as well. It's Charity Shield ffs, how classless these EPL players can get? :yuck:

Regardless of class, did anyone notice the tempo they were playing in? These guys are like five months ahead of us in training.

Not me :)

I'm also not laughing at ManU either.
I lost all my interest in this match when i saw them making million subs. It was nothing more but a meaningless friendly match.

And Jack, i noticed it too. But not only in the pre-season. Their players play throughout the year without rest (they don't even have the winter rest as the Italians do). They always go till the end of CL, they play two different domestic cups. When you sum it up, every year they play around 10 matches more than the Italian teams and yet all the fucking time, no matter if it's pre-season or during the season, they are more fit than the Italian clubs' players.
It has to do something with the trainings and something simply has to be changed in Italy regarding this.

I think the difference in fitness levels also has to do with the climate difference, in Italy as most of the Mediterranean, it is boiling in the months of July and August, while in England it wouldn't be too hot, and as anyone who has ever played football before will know, it is much harder to train in 35 degrees compared to 27, which is what the temperatures will be about imo

Yes I know but by mid season, the players in Italy catch up a bit and later on in European competitions they fall down again. It's weird. And Cutajar, your theory can be blown to pieces when you think of the fact that Spain has somehow similar climate to Italy and yet the players there are much more fit and can play at a higher tempo.

It's not like they make the training camps in a desert :D
Usually teams are training in some place near the mountains where the climate is excellent. Many teams go abroad to Switzerland or Austria where they spend the first weeks of training, while Juve's training camp is Pinzolo. It's on the fucking Alps, almost 1000m altitude. People go there for skiing in the winter.

The temperature right now there is around 20°. :D

An Irish manager is managing one of the top Maltese teams at the moment. Have you heard anything about him? His name is Roddy Collins. I forget the name of the club. :embarasse

Floriana, I googled it lol. I wouldn't say they are a top team, they are a constant 5th in the league, which is of 10 clubs lol

That's how we do in America. Simple if we can't out talent you, we'll out run you philosophy.
enjoying talking to yourself? haha.

Oh. Well, over here they made it sound like they're world beaters :p. He's a bit of a loser. The only job he could get here was on a crappy TV show once a week :D.
haha, so he was so desperate that he decided to coach a maltese team, mind you we have one team that is going to dominate the league so much its not going to be funny.
Valletta signed Jordi Crujff, as well as a Dutch coach, so they are going to be the winners of the league, plus the president has been known to give bribes lol, but on quality alone they will win
