Apparently the transfer market in the EPL is going to explode this and/or next week. That's what the English media and some english mates of mine say. Let's not forget both of Man Utd and Liverpool have some cash lying about.
Don't agree on that, i think that when it comes to managing their money. English clubs are probably one of the smartest in europe (thats my personal opinion).

They know that the market in inflated and ferguson himself said he won't enter the market this year and spend big (pretty smart).

Next season you'll probably see some smart moves in the market by their clubs thats what i think will happen but not this season (unless if its some small buys here and there but nothing major)....

I'd love to see Stoke, Hull, Middlesbrough and Tottenham make CL.
^^^:agree: i don't care who would make it to the champions league as long as one of the usuall suspects (united, chelsea, pool and arsenal) is out of the picture.

Those 4 teams are dominating the CL and as long as they're making it every year it will always be much harder for any club from other leagues to break that.

but you run the risk of overpaying for a long standing transfer target next year because-
A- he had a good world cup
B-Real Madrid are interested in him
and
C-Man City's 3rd manager in 12 months has been given a massive war chest to completely rebuild his squad

Fergie writes off Reds
United boss expects Blues to be main title rivals

By Chris Burton Last updated: 5th August 2009

Sir Alex Ferguson believes Chelsea will provide the greatest threat to Man Utd this season, not Liverpool.

The Red Devils boss is hoping to lead his side to a fourth consecutive Premier League title, and knows competition for the crown will be fierce.

Liverpool pushed United all the way last season, eventually finishing just four points off the pace.

They are expected to challenge again in the 2009/10 campaign, but their chances of tasting top-flight glory have been all but written off by the manager of their fiercest rivals.

Ferguson insists Chelsea, under the guidance of new coach Carlo Ancelotti, are causing him greater concern heading into the new season and claims Liverpool will struggle to replicate their heroics of last term.

"It will be hard for them to match last season, let alone improve on it. Other teams will know more about them," Ferguson told The Sun.

"Liverpool had probably their best season for 20 years and still finished four points adrift.

"It has to be Chelsea as the main threat. Ancelotti will change how they play."

Probably, but what if Carlo has problems in his first season? He may.

It's shaping up to be one of the less predictable seasons in England, so anything is possible.

I agree, but I still think Sir Alex is probably right.

Man Utd and Liverpool are both going to be weaker than last season and Chelsea have a new coach.

It'll be an interesting first couple of months to see how things shape up.
