"Two players alone do not make a team. We have signed some good players and, like I say, Manchester United are a team and not only about two players", Evra said.

Well of course he'll say that, but it doesn't make it necessarily true on a certain level.

And good luck getting 40 goals from Nani, Macheda, Valencia, Park and Welbeck. :seven:

Source: Altidore to join Hull City on loan
By Kristian R. Dyer
August 5, 2009

United States national team forward Jozy Altidore will join English Premier League club Hull City on a season-long loan, according to a source close to the negotiations.

Altidore's agent, Lyle Yorks of Proactive Sports Management, is currently in England closing the negotiations, according to the source, who remained anonymous due to the nature of the talks. The loan is pending approval of a work permit, but Altidore, who is in England, is expected to join his new team Thursday.

The 19-year-old Altidore was purchased by Spanish club Villareal last summer for a record MLS transfer fee of $10 million dollars. Altidore, who first began playing professionally with the New York Red Bulls in 2006, scored 15 goals in 37 league appearances before last summer's transfer.

After the transfer, Altidore made six appearances with the La Liga side, scoring one goal . Earlier this year, he was loaned to second division club Xerez where he suffered a season-ending injury to his toe.

In June, Altidore was a prominent part of a U.S. team that made a surprising run to the finals of the Confederations Cup in South Africa. During the run, Altidore, who has represented the United States 16 times and scored seven goals, found the back of the net in the United States ' improbable 2-0 win over Spain.

According to the source, Altidore is excited about the prospect of playing in the Premier League and the chance to get additional playing time in the lead-up to the World Cup. A news conference announcing the loan is expected Thursday.

After earning promotion to the Premier League last season, Hull City surprised many observers by avoiding relegation. After a strong start, in which the club lost only once in its first nine league matches, Hull 's inability to score goals led to a fall in the standings through much of the season, and the team finished 17th.

Altidore is expected to be named to the roster for the United States ' August 12th qualifier in Mexico City.

I'll burn that greasy faggot's jersey myself. I know Rafa doesn't watch Serie A but jesus. De Rossi would be much better.
no way Roma will sell De Rossi,he will do a Totti and play out his career there

Chelsea, not Liverpool, will present the biggest challenge to Man Utd.
 tahts what i ahve been saying to anyone that will listen

for me Chelsea have the strongest, most balanced squad. with Liverpool losing Xabi they will rely even more on Gerrad and Torres and will be fucked if either or both get injured at all

Yup, i agree with you and with Ferguson.

Even last year Chelsea had everything to win a treble but a clown on the bench in the first half of the season and referee's mistakes combined with lots of bad luck stopped them in Europe.

Chelsea's team was good enough even last year to win the EPL (They'd have probably done it with Hiddink there from the start). Now with the same team and with Manchester losing Ronaldo and Tevez while Pool losing Xabi, Chelsea have the best team on paper.
It's all up to Ancelotti. If he's more like Hiddink and less like Scolari, then Chelsea will be #1 favs in the league and they'll probably win it.
:agree:

Yeah, I know he can, but it's yet another loan and he could do better than Hull City.

At least he should get some playing time and we can watch him at least a few times this season.
