Marchisio better than Hamsik? Pierre Gignac better than Giovinco? Jozy Altidore who has been poor everytime he set foot on the pitch for Villareal at 8th. Jack Wilshere is talented, especially for a 17 year old. But he's not as good as Hamsik or even Giovinco.

Nice to see Khalfan Ibrahim in that list :D anyone know the guy, or ever seen him play?
Heard this name somewhere ....

The big news today is : Kaka is gonna fuck off and sign for man city...So not only milan have an allready aging team but they'll also get rid of their best player

:lol2: Is Mattioni on that list? That article is way too English bias, I mean half of them will become Parkers, Guthries, Butts, and Duffs.
Butt and Duff in the same list? Duff was a great winger, but injuries have taken their toll. Butt's only ever been a solid defensive mid. Parker's a decent midfielder, but he made a big mistake going to Newcastle. No one but the most rabid English fans ever thought of him as more than a pretty good player for a mid table team.

Man, I don't even remember Guthrie.

Was supposed to be special, but ended up being sold to Newcastle this summer after being unable to break into the first team at Liverpool.

He's been decent for Newcastle at times, and average at others, he's a semi decent player at best though. Never really convinced me whenever i saw him.

Man Utd were again unconvincing, winning 1-0 with a goal in the first minute. After that it was pretty even. Wigan had a go at VDS quite a few times. Wigan are a good team this season, they have quite a few good players in their ranks. Valencia in particular gave O'Shea a nightmare today, for me he was the best player on the pitch. I rate Valencia pretty highly, and actually wouldn't mind him at Arsenal.

Did Palacios play today?

He's not terrible. He just really had no shot at making the first team once we signed Lucas.
Never said he was terrible, i said he was slightly above average. I don't know how he did when he was with you guys, i'm basing my opinion on the Newcastle games i've watched this season.

Did Palacios play today?
Yes he did, another interesting player Wigan have, he was rather good today as well.

C'mon do you really think he was worth the 17million which Ranieri bought him for, just to be a bit part player? To be honest, its a trend with Newcastle.

My point. Most of the players of the English players on that list are over-hyped way too early and only end up being average or decent.

But i have to agree with Mikhail on Duff. He's a class player, a brilliant winger, if it weren't for the injuries. His last two seasons with Blackburn and his first with Chelsea, he was fantastic, but injuries like i said took their toll on his career. He's still a decent player for the Geordies though.

Ferguson called it actually. He said £17 million was too much for an injury prone winger. Fred's right. His last few seasons with a fairly shit Blackburn, he was magnificant. I remember him beating Liverpool pretty much on his own. At Chelsea, for a while, Duff was comfortably better than Robben. Even in Mourinho's first season, Duff was a big player for them. Since then, not so much.

Oh, and funny story: Ranieri's grandmother gave him an earful for dropping Duff at one point!

Yes, he was great at a point in his career, no doubt. By the way, I messed up from the start as Duff is Irish ;)
