im having a debate with a english fan over the lack of talent the english league are producing and instead recons in the future they will be better than the likes of spain and italy in terms of quality, and hes raving on about the likes of welbeck, young, richards blah blah, but im stating that in the future these talents will end up in the championship or lower because foreign influxes and influences are ousting the home grown talent to play elsewhere and in the future the england team will be picking players from lower divisions.

im just curious to know what the rest of you think, does england really have a future like hollands, spain, italy or is it really going into decline within the next 10 years or so?

frankly, couldn't care less...but the way the EPL is being run these days, it will be seriously difficult for a young British player to make it...many young guys are not child prodigies and eventually become good players, so if the current trend of poaching foreign kids continues, it does not bode well for England

well that was the point i was making, yet perhaps its his ignorance but he believes the new crop will be good enough to actually play in the top flight, on the other hand i actually fail to see where or how he came up with that theory, when now the epl is nearly 70% foreign and no signs of that decreasing, especially since there is no proper regulation on limiting non eu player imports for example, yet at the same time im getting alot of stick for saying the prem has sold its soul and identity, would that be a fair comment to say? or am i actually being anti english which i am anyways without justification?

well, the problem is that the top clubs are not bringing in tons of english talent through their first team. however, all of the big 2+2 have good english players in the youth ranks that probably wont be good enough for the top clubs, but will be able to have successful careers at other clubs. arsenal though (ironically enough, given the criticism of wenger) have several that could make it to the top level. so do man city and villa. in other words, things aren't completely bleak, but it's safe to say that there needs to be more of an effort by top clubs to bring up and blood top young enligsh players

most of them are penos or free kicks into an open net
You are the most biased member in this forum. Are you now going to tell me that you dont rate Ronaldo?

how about before this trend was established. the English never produced top talents, the difference is now they have the foreigners to blame.

Hleb's departure has killed Arsenal.

Only when he has gone do the fans realise how much of our play went through him.

More important than Fabregas.
id say flamini did more harm, but yes hleb in his last season or 2 was starting to fill the void pires had left but its clearly evident that the weak link of the team is in the middle, fabregas clearly suffering without a strong partner in the middle, therefore the rest of the squad is suffering for creativity and service

i didnt say you have to like him. In fact i hate the fucker more than you do. Doesnt take away the fact he's world class.

personal opinion, the only thing pele has over dp is his international record
:howler:
and you still think Palladino is better than Ronaldo, and Paro is better than Fabregas. Nothing beats DP better than Pele though :rofl2:

knee jerk reaction. the one we really missed is the Flamster, Nasri's a better player than Hleb as far as i'm concerned, we just need to give him time to adapt to his surroundings. He's still playing it safe too much for my liking.

well thats where i think alot of that is with the fact he always had a good team around him, whereby del piero has always carried juve himself, much like maradona did with argentina and napoli
ya cos Zidane, Inzaghi, Davids, Trezeguet, Conte, Buffon, Cannavaro, Jugovic, Nedved, Montero, Zambrotta, Zlatan and Thuram were all average players.

firstly class comes with consistency, and he fails to shine at the big games, namely cl final

when did i ever say palladino was better than ronaldo, stop putting words into my mouth

no but the brazil 60s squad is perhaps the greatest wc squad assembled and is far superior to what juve have ever had in the last 10 years

not taking it away from the likes of zidane who yes was a class player and the likes of jugovic and zlatan are no match to what brazil had

the final in which he scored a goal, and made a mockery out of Essien on the right side???

You said it, i'm not in the mood to look for it now though. You do admit to saying Paro is better than Cesc though right?

thats not the point, the point is Juve always had top class players with DP, stop making it sound like he was playing with average players.
