People coming out with this Flamini thing but I think it's a a bit of a myth, a cliche propagated by the media.
We do miss Flamini, as Denilson couldn't mark a traffic cone, but Fabregas still gets 'freedom' to go forward, still has plenty of time on the ball, and makes the same runs he made last season.
The difference is, Hleb is no longer there to pick him out and play the combination football. Hleb was put down as a winger but he was really an auxillary central playmaker. We basically had two playmakers with him and Cesc.
Yes Nasri looks set to be more of a goal threat but the rest of his game pales in comparison to Hleb. Doesn't dribble as well, less visionary passes, less off the ball movement.
We're just shit this year without him. No direction in our play. Cesc is good but SLOW. That's where Hleb edges him. Hleb could mix it up and dribble, whereas Cesc relies on passing his way up the pitch all the time and being picked out.
