Russian mafia rules!

anyway, from what I've seen from Hiddink(mostly with NT's) his teams tend to play very well at the start so he could make an immediate impact and that's not good for us.
Remember those Koreans running like there was no tomorrow? I always thought something was fishy there but if there's no proof you can only speculate.

Although Hiddink's teams do suffer against the Italian teams somewhat.
Hiddink vs Italy

1990 Uefa Cup, Fenerbahce-Atalanta 0:1 - 1:4 (1:5 on agg)
1992 Uefa Cup, Valencia- Napoli 1:5 - 0:1 (1:6 on agg)
1998 CL, Real Madrid- Inter 2:0 - 1:3 (3:3 on agg)
2002, World Cup, South Korea- Italy 2:1
2004, Uefa Cup, PSV Eindhoven- Perugia 3:1- 0:0 (3:1 on agg)
2006, CL, PSV Eindhoven- Milan 3:1- 0:2 (3:3 on agg)
2006, World Cup, Australia-Italy 0:1

4 wins- 1 draw- 7 defeats

But it must be noticed that most of the time he was coaching a team inferior to his Italian opponent and yet he almost always troubled the favorites (PSV-Milan, Korea-Italy, Australia-Italy)

The real question is, how well does Hiddink perform with a good team?

I have it for me that Hiddink can make 120% of an average team, he can force players to do certain jobs. Can he do that on a bunch of divas?

not Prandelli but our very own CR.
I thought it was Lippi but i wasn't sure and that's why i didn't mention it in the first post. Then i went to check and confirm that it was Lippi and you can imagine my surprise when i saw that Ranieri was the coach of Napoli in 1992

a chelsea squad led by hiddink doesn't frighten me one bit. he needs time to work with his team and test out his adjustments. all of which takes time and right now he is literally being thrown into the fire.

Anyone wants to know more about the Ranieri-Hiddink head-to-head? :p

1992, Uefa Cup, Napoli-Valencia 1:0 - 5:1
1998/99, La Liga, Valencia-Real Madrid 3:1- 1:3
1999/00, La Liga, Atletiko Madrid- Betis 1:0 - 1:2 *

Ranieri wins 4
Draws 0
Hiddink wins 2

Goal difference: Ranieri 12: 7 Hiddink

* Both Atletico and Betis were relegated that season :p

Minor correction, In the first part of 1999/2000 season Hiddink was Real Madrid's coach, not Betis'. He took over Betis at the beginning of the second part of the season.
That's why we can't count the Betis-Atletico 2:1 match but we should count Real Madrid-Atletico 1:3.

So at the end we get

Ranieri wins 5
Draws 0
Hiddink wins 1

Goal difference, Ranieri 14- 6 Hiddink.

Ranieri rulz !

PSV faced Milan 2 season in a row, once in the knockout stage, and once in group stage.
