This only adds further pressure on Benitez. At the start of the season they looked like genuine title contenders, and now they're fighting to keep a CL spot.I like Benitez as a mananger, but i think with 3 english seasons under his belt, its become evident that he wont get you the league title. He might get you the CL,but not the league.Liverpool will need a new manager if they want to have a serious go at the league. They spent big bucks, they have the squad, but they've messed it up in the league for a while now.

I like the fact that Liverpool fans are more patient with their managers than us Juventus fans, but surely there's a limit to everyone's patience. If Liverpool dont qualify for the CL this season,i expect the fans to get against him too.Not finishing in the top 4 for 2 out of 3 seasons should not be acceptable for a club of Liverpool's status.
Liverpool fans seem to be turning gainst him now.

I suspect his future will hinge on the CL, but even that may not save him if their league form doesn't improve.

Doesn't matter, he's pulled it off and it was a beauty.

Did R.Carlos ever repeat that free kick he scored against France? ;)

Ya..i hate the guys guts..but he is undisputedly the worlds best player this season...He's easily reaching the 25 goal mark this season..i dont think a winger has ever reached that number before:shocked:
He is phenomenal. But he has to prove himself in a way bigger stage if he wants to be considered as a true great of the game. For once, I wanna see him rule in a game where his team are not favourites to win.

as good as ronaldo ahs been this seasson he is invisible in the really big games:agree: he needs a stand out game (like nedved against real) to raise your game when your team is facing genuine quality like kaka does shows true class and until he does that more consistently he will always be looked upon with interest but not as worlds best

I disagree guys, a WINGER who scores so many goals and has so many assists is amazing. Imo the only player who is as good as him/better than him atm is Messi.

Kaka is not close to Ronaldo or Messi atm.

I completley LOATH Ronaldo and everything Manchester United, but saying that Kaka isnt close to him is kinda far fetched.Ronaldo is a brilliant player, even ill admit that, but he's been found wanting when it matters.By this im not talking about his ability to do well personally, but im talking about a performance in a massive match where he could lift his entire team up.Ronaldo is not as influential as Kaka is,nor is Messi. All three are great players, but Kaka is more effective than them.I mean for gods sake,he SINGLE handedly got them the CL last season.

but to that's thing. Not taking away from Kaka's achievements.... he plays brilliantly. but having a fantastic play in 15 CL games a a few league game is not as good as a brilliant performance in say 30 league games and a few other CL games imo.

and I disagree about Messi. imo Messi IS Barcelona.

i agree with salman on this, would maradonna have been so good if he was found missing when he hit the world cup??

typically ronaldo has been found wanting when it matters most, against milan he was practically invisible. scoring goals against derby and the likes is not comparable, he could score 30 games in the EPL against weaker teams but until he turns it on against the very best teams people will still have doubts over his true worth.

let me put this straight, i think he is a prick but afantastic player, however he needs to show it in the biggest games before he can be considered teh best

Boro are missing a good striker..they sold both Viduka and Yakubu in the summer, and didnt get any adequate replacement.

Mido and Aliadere are anything but adequate replacements
