Whoever gets him will be getting a great player with loads of talent and a straight head. The way he carries the NT at such a young age is amazing, he's not fazed by anything and will handle all pressure that a big club brings. Good luck Luka.

Fred, what's the status with Eduardo? Wenger seems to be giving him a hard time by not starting him, though when he did start he didn't always impress TBH. Is that treatment normal? I suppose it is with Wenger but I'm curious have there been negative rumours about him leaving, labeling him as a flop, etc.?

He did well against Sheffield, hope that gets him another starting chance so he can show his true worth.
I dont think wenger is giving him a hard time..he is slowly letting him adapt..he did the same to Van Persie when he first arrived..so its nothing to worry about..I actually think Wenger very much likes Eduardo..as his off the ball movement is second to none in Arsenal..And we all know Wengerball is all about pass move pass move.He will come good..but as Wenger said, the first 6 months is adaption..then we will see the real Eduardo.

Yes he was one of our best players against Sheffield along with Denilson..I personally hope he makes the bench for the United game..Unleashing him in the last 15-20 minutes if we were having a hard time.

There are rumours of a rift between Wenger and Gilberto..Allegedly Gilberto "refused" to play against Sheffield in the Carling Cup..And even when he played Wenger didnt give him the captains armband even though he was the most senior member of the squad and the only player above 23...Some people say that Gilberto is still not over the captaincy snub(when he decided on giving the captaincy to Gallas)..And personally i believe Wenger didnt give him the captains armband because he knew that he was going to drop him this season...Maybe because he slows our play down.

And about Wenger praising him..Never believe what wenger says in the media.
Thanks Fred. Sounds right about captaincy, though I thougth I remember Wenger saying Silva, Toure & Gallas would share it? Who was capt v Sheffield?

Gallas is captain,Toure is vice captain and Gilberto is or was the third in the line.Against Sheffield..Goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski was captain..rumours say that Gilberto refused to be captain in this game.

Wow, it must be all over for him there then. Your 3rd choice keeper as captain. Lehmann looks a goner too, no?
Lehmann is definetely a goner..i personally lost all respect for him and hope he never wears an Arsenal shirt again..Maybe if Wenger doesnt sell him in Jan and keeps him in the reserves so he'll lose his place in the NT..thats what i would do if i was Wenger.

Fair play, but if he has such a bad attitude though, sure you want him sticking around?
ya it was probably an over reaction..i think we should be fair and sell him in Jan..TBH a few months ago..i loved the guy he was one of my favourite Arsenal players..but attacking a fellow teammate and the manager in public and continually bitching to the press changed my mind about him.

Not surprised. He always comes across as a bit of an a$$hoel, but he was your a$$hole, so it was ok by you, right? Now, you see him as other clubs fans do!

Cheers for the input, it's much appreciated. I always trusted Wenger's judgement, but it's kind of hard seeing him on the stands, not even on the bench at times. Especially when you consider how he's playing for the NT, which is leading it's qualifier group.

Either way, I really hope Eduardo gets a shot against Man Utd.

Yes he is probably the most proven goalscorer in the team,to be honest i wouldnt mind him starting against Man Utd..as it will give us more flexibility..we can start with a 4-5-1 with eduardo playing on the left..and then move him to be a striker if Adebayor needs support.

I know you dislike Adebayor, I'm not a fan either, but this season he's been hitting the net quite often. How do you feel about that?

I would definetly start Eduardo against Man Utd, his morale is high now and he'd give his 130% against a rival such as Man Utd. I'm sure he'd make an impact against them, he'd have something to prove and he's known to score in important matches quite regulary.

Football365:
* Sporting Lisbon starlet Miguel Veloso has confirmed that he would like to join ManYoo.

The £10m-rated midfielder has been linked with both ManYoo and Real Madrid by The Sun, and has now told the newspaper: "Of course I would love to play for Manchester United. They are a great team and it is a dream for anyone to play in great clubs."

According to the Bun, 'He played a blinder against United in the Champions League and attracted the interest of Alex Ferguson. '

* The Independent reckons that 'Chelsea have stepped up their pursuit of Lulinha, the latest wonder-kid of Brazilian football, by sending two scouts to watch the 17-year-old play on Wednesday evening' and 'It is now hoped by the Premier League club that an £8m deal to sign the precocious striker may be agreed in time for the January transfer window.'

The Indy seem very sure of their story and report that 'The scouts were sent to Rio Janeiro at the behest of Frank Arnesen, Chelsea's chief scout and director of youth development.'

If, like Transfer Gossip, you've never heard of Lulinha, he plays for Brazilian club Corinthians and, to quote The Indy, 'The youngster, who does not turn 18 until April, can play as an attacking midfielder or as a "second striker" and has been dubbed the "new Ronaldinho" in South America because of his flamboyant playing style. He is regarded as a player in the classic mould of a "Brazilian Number 10" and is also a prolific goal-scorer - having struck 12 goals in just seven matches earlier this year as Brazil won the South American Under-17 Championships.'

* The Independent also reckons that Man Citeh are ready to make a move for Brazilian striker Afonso Alves.

Citing reports in Holland, it says that 'Sources suggest that representatives of City's owner, Thaksin Shinawatra, met those of the striker's club, Heerenveen, in Amsterdam on Wednesday and tabled a €12m (£8.3m) bid for the 26-year-old.'

Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Portsmouth are also reputedly interested in signing Alves, but 'the City wages on offer would make them favourites to sign him.'

* However, according to The Times, the striker who Citeh want to sign is Nicolas Anelka.

Dismissing the Alves reports as 'premature', 'with Eriksson's scouts due to continue monitoring Alves over the next two months before deciding whether to proceed with a bid', The Times also links Citeh with Shaun Wright-Phillips and Brann Bergen midfielder Erik Huseklepp.

As for Anelka, The Times says he is one of at least five strikers that Citeh are 'tracking'. Their scouts must be working overtime.

* The Daily Mail have cast fresh doubts on the future of Paul Robinson at Tottenham by claiming that Spurs are lining up a 'January move for Udinese's highly rated young goalkeeper Samir Handanovic.'

The newspaper says that Juande Ramos has 'serious concerns about Robinson's form and director of football Damien Comolli has identified Handanovic as one of Europe's brightest talents.'

'Comolli has also been watching Schalke's Manuel Neuer but the 21-year-old slipped down the Frenchman's wishlist after allowing Florent Malouda's shot to go through his legs in the Champions League match against Chelsea,' it adds.

* Jens Lehmann may have played his last game for Arsenal...Barcelona are thought to be preparing to sell Ronaldinho...Spurs are investigating who leaked the news of Martin Jol's departure before the Dutchman was told...Antoine Sibierski doesn't think Chris Hutchings should be sacked as Wigan manager...Newcastle are set to offer midfielder Nicky Butt a new contract...Michael Owen has pledged his future to Newcastle, ruining Manchester City's hopes of signing him...Crystal Palace have pulled out of the proposed transfer of Clint Hill from Stoke...Jim Magilton is set to sign a new contract at Ipswich.

He has had quite a good start to the season..but he hasnt scored for almost a month now..while his finishing has improved it is still not good enough..and he misses a lot of easy chances. And actually i dont dislike him..i just dont prefer him;)

Adebayor reminds me little bit on Inzaghi, he is missing imposible to miss and scoring almost imposible to score :D At the moment Arsenal is missing a real goalscorer, a player with balls who is ready to shoot towards goal when he gets a chance, sometimes it's annyojing to see how Arsenal players are passing in opposition box instead of shooting (ie game against Pool), however Eduardo should be the answer, all he needs is to adapt, he came from small club and a small league compared to England and Arsenal (no offence to Dinamo fans :)) and that's why he needs a little bit more time to adapt.

Until he bangs in a winner today, then you'll love him Fred! :D
He did score the winner in Old Trafford last season..but only after missing a bucket load of chances..i expect a big performance from him today though..he seems to always be fired up against man utd.
