I still cant figure out why Ferguson would splash 25M on him, sure he's a good player..but definitely not for 25M..Bayern then used that same 25M to get Ribery

That was a good read Denco.

But i have to disagree..What did Fabregas do to earn MOM.??i thought Hleb and Toure were Arsenal's best players.
If you have the chance watch it again then you would see why Cesc was the best player on the field. His passes were sublime as usual, sure he missed a sitter and his giving away a free kick led to Gerrard's strike but he was excellent.

I thought you were harsh on Flamini as he played very well and I am not sure what almunia did to deserve what you said about him. He made very good saves when required and did not make any errors.

I thought Arsenal were absolutely fantastic and anyone who did not believe before they can win the league should have no doubts now

Everyone was excellent apart from Adebayor and Rosicky, who were bad in my view.

I didnt Gilberto Silva impressed at all when he came on as he seemed way beyond pace of the game.

Why would you give Carragher man of the match, he should have given away a penalty again? It was not as if he kept a striker in fantastic form at bay and Arsenal too many clear cut chances in Liverpool's box for him to warrant mom

I was worried for Adebayor when I learnt that Arsenal beat slavia 7-0 and as a striker he did not score, seriously thats terrible for a striker.

I don't think Fabregas is the best in the world but he is the most in form midfielder right now as for the best, well he ias about the same height and plays for Barcelona and his name is Messi

It was a good game, in second half Arsenal was way batter but Liverpool was way more concrete, I mean what the hell is with Arsenal they need to make at least 20 passes before someone shoots towards goal. It was really funny to watch how Arsenal players are passing in Liverpool's box :D However the draw is maybe the fairest result of the game, even it could go either way.

P.S. Fabregas missing sitter was incredible (I saw it in the goal), and Bendter (I think it was him) also missed almost same sitter as Fabregas after Fabregas hit the post. At the training tommorow Arsenal players will train volleys :D
It wasn't a "sitter".
He didn't have enough time to sort out his position, but what he should have done was get control of the ball, THEN have a shot.

His passing wasnt bad,but it was sloppy at times..Mascherrano and Gerrard did well to close him down everytime he got in Liverpools half..And he wasnt able to weave his magic as usual. And i felt Rafa did the right thing by crowding the midfield to limit Cesc's creativity....But he proved to me yesterday that he is a big player..even after he missed that sitter,he didnt drop his head down..he didnt give up until he scored a goal and shot one on the post.

I hold Flamini responsible for Liverpools goal,as he lost the ball unnecessarily in a dangerous position. They got a free kick from it,and Gerrard converted.Unlike Fabregas he didnt do much to make up for his mistake..He wasnt bad,but he was just ok.

I thought Carragher did a great job in marking Adebayor,Adebayor isnt a good finisher, but he is a hard worker and he moves a lot. He's never easy to mark but Carragher yesterday kept him in his pocket..And he deserves credit for that..As for the penalty claim..yes he put his arms around Fabregas but Cesc fell down to easily..if i was the ref i wouldnt have given a penalty like that in a big match like this too.

I think Fabregas is something special..but Messi's from another planet..completely agree with your last statement.

I too think Hleb was MOM, just as he was against Slavia. This guy is amazingly skillful. If he was from Brazil, Argentina or France he would be credited as an absoute world class player. Now seeing that he is from Belarus, he's annoyingly underrated.

He has really stepped up this season.

One of the player who has taken on more responsibility since Henry left.

It's an English curse, mainly.

:agree:

Has anyone else noticed that if you minus £10m from the transfer of an English player to an English club you get much nearer their true value?

eg

D. Bent to Spurs £18m :faq2: £8m, ok
M. Carrick to Manchester £17m :faq2: £7m
F. Lampard to Chelsea £11m..........:D

I too believe Hleb isnt getting enough credit..not only in this match but the whole season..People go on about the good form Fabregas is in..i think Hleb has been equally important to Arsenal..only difference is he hasnt been chipping in with as many goals as Cesc has..but if you look closely Hleb has been part of almost every Arsenal goal this season.

This coming from one of his biggest critics..well done Alexander you are definitely proving me wrong.

Good point.

If you are serious about Lampard I disagree though.

i think scholes and c ronaldo were more instrumental, plus he was a flop for a big part of last season
As the season went along Carrick was instrumental in my opinion, holding that midfield together without the presence of anybody who could tackle. Scholes and Ronaldo were arguably just as pivotal though.

Was only joking about Lampard, honest :eyebrows:

Carrick was important for United last season, but think Ferguson recognised him as the weakest link in their line up & chased Hargreaves, a slight improvement.
