Good, United aren't even close to deserving a CL spot, they have improved but are in a false position after several months of points they didn't deserve.

- - - Updated - - -

Darmian (because of his background) plus De Gea, Martial and maybe Mata are the only players United have that should even be interesting to us. But they could also go to other clubs in better leagues with more money, so it's kind of a moot point I guess.

What I like now is how teams like Spurs are superseding them on a sporting level. There was a day when United would come calling and they could just take any Spurs player. They did several times. Now they just have money, huge sums of money, but with an average team why on earth would the likes of Alli, Kane or Dier swap Spurs for United now? United can offer £100m for a player if they want, but top players want to play for top clubs, not just really wealthy and famous ones.
We had a link with Depay. Would you take him if we had the chance?

Personally, not at all. He's a talent but too much of a punk for now, needs to ground himself. This United is a far better bet for him. He's playing for a top 6 side in a league that should suit him, where he knows the language, with his former NT manager and countryman as boss, and is hit and miss. Imagine him trying to play for this Juve, a top 1 side in a league and team that is probably as alien to him as tactfulness.

The other top clubs in the Premier League are also struggling though, and we're not exactly poor anymore. We could probably throw a little money around if we really wanted.

I was actually hoping United would take the fourth spot from City. Because fuck Pep

Very good point, didn't even think of that.

I hope they have Paul Scholes in Monday Night Football tomorrow.

Nothing like Scholsey to go all passive aggressive and explain why the current bunch of fuctards are an absolute disgrace and shitstain on the Man Utd legacy.

How in the world can a team who has been consistantly so rich and pulled such high turnovers, fall so deep ?

Ferguson overperformed with that team for years. The team that won the CL and was in the final a year later was seriously great. Van der Sar, Neville Ferdinand Vidic Evra, Scholes Carrick Ronaldo Giggs, Tevez Rooney. Then Ronaldo and Tevez left, Neville, Scholes and VdS retired, later Ferdinand and Giggs too, Vidic and Evra declined and they replaced them with guys like Evans, Jones, Rafael, Valencia, Cleverley or Zaha. The Van Persie signing was great and it delayed their downfall a bit but that was only temporary. Its Fergusons fault kinda, he proved he can win with these mediocre guys but he left too much of a garbage team to his successors. 1 or 2 mercatos wont fix it, especially if you are as clueless about what the team needs as Moyes and Van Gaal proved to be. Mourinho in 1-2 seasons could be able to fix them, if they again get a mediocre manager that will buy players without a clear strategy they will stuck to being mediocre for a while

Leicester City have officially qualified for Champions League football for the first time next season following their 2-0 win over Sunderland and Manchester United's 3-0 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur.

The victory at the Stadium of Light took Claudio Ranieri's men onto 72 points, and with United losing at White Hart Lane the Foxes cannot now finish any lower than fourth in the Premier League -- which books a place in the final qualifying round.

The Foxes last played in Europe in the 2000-01 UEFA Cup, and never previously got beyond the first round in continental competition in three campaigns.

Their debut appearance came in the 1961-62 European Cup Winners' Cup, when they beat Glenavon in the preliminary round before losing 3-1 on aggregate to Atletico Madrid in the first round. They then lost to Atletico again, 4-1 on aggregate, in the 1997-98 UEFA Cup.

In 2000-01, they were knocked out 4-2 on aggregate by Red Star Belgrade.

Leicester will have to wait until next weekend for the chance to confirm their place in the group stage via a top-three finish.

If Leicester win the Premier League they will be seeded in next season's Champions League group stage draw along with the champions of Spain, Germany, Italy, France, Portugal, Russia and the title holders.

There is no chance that Leicester could be robbed of a place in the Champions League if Manchester City and Liverpool win the Champions League and Europa League respectively. If both clubs lift the European trophies, and both finish outside the top four, then fourth in the Premier League drops into the Europa.

This is because there is a maximum of five teams from one national association in the Champions League, and City and Liverpool would qualify as title holders leaving only three spots for the league. It is not mathematically possible for Leicester to finish fourth and Man City outside the top four.

Agree, very few would have had a chance at following Ferguson, he was too good. Leaving a small number of players aside (De Gea, Rooney etc), that squad was fairly disastrous as you mentioned. And Moyes brought in what, Fellaini and Zaha? Plus a knee-jerk splash on Mata in January after he had finished being a baby in London. Some squad evolution. A large problem is that so many genuinely believed characters like Phil Jones were better than reality for years, comparing him to Baresi or Beckenbauer. Januzaj similar, that initial hype just wouldn't die off after poorer performances. I suppose this is the negative of having a manager with so much control within the club, nobody considered what would happen next. Arsenal should really be learning from this, players like the Ox and Wilshere should be shitting themselves if a more ruthless manager comes in.

I quite liked their stadium.

No more West Ham's favourite Burger Bar :moan:
Yeah I been there twice, its really nice, good athmosphere. But they deserve the upgrade, becoming more ambitious is risky but nice venture, but aslong as they dont become plastic. Liked the vibe and pub culture fandom around Upton Park and most of east london. Was more interesting then Arsenals emirates stadium for sure.

Chelsea sucks so much, their game sucks, squad sucks. Conte will have a lot to do.
They have not even a trace of character in them. How low can the players mentally be if Mou and Hiddink both fail at getting them to perform? Even Courtois has become absolutely shit.
