Who is on this committee, apart from Rodgers?
A stats guy (Head of Analysis), the chief scout (Head of Recruiting), and the Money Man (Managing Director) Ian Ayre.

I'm sure most clubs use these guys to make transfer decisions, but there really needs to be an experienced hand say No when a 3rd left foot center back or Mario Balotelli comes across the table.

So do Liverpool use Moneyball to sign players?
Moneyball? You mean sporting statistics? I'm sure they do, most football clubs use statistical analysis as part of player acquisition nowadays. I don't think it's used as much as when Comoli was at the club.

The problem is that we have 4 guys with very little experience trying to play the transfer game. Which is how we end up going for Sanchez and then moving to Balotelli, or losing out for Willian and grabbing Aspas.

I love how you can be a half decent striker of a smaller club, score around 10 goals and then make massive amounts of money at Liverpool.

I don't know if he's going to make "massive amounts". He's still a pretty young guy, coming on a free.

I'll be surprised if he's anything better than a squad player.

£211m spent, only one absolute success: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/alan-shearer-brendan-rodgers-spent-5763394

According to Alan Shearer. Coutinho being the only success.

I'd argue that you need to give a lot more room to Markovic, Lallana, Moreno and Can, by virtue of their talent and age. You can't rubbish those players so early on. Pretty grim reading anyway, if you are a Liverpool fan. The point being whether they will trust this guy to spend another load of their money, in a vital time for the club.
If you're talking about the players in that list, Sturridge was a success most defenitely as well, no matter his injuries. The guy scored 35 goals in 55 games, and that for 12 million pounds.
