Italian players left their mark in England even when Serie A was at its peak. Zola for instance, Di Mateo, Vialli, Ravanelli, etc... Simply throughout the history Italians had better players, more technical, skillfull, more cunning and it comes as no surprise they have won 4 world cups till now. England as a football nation, when you look at the talent they have managed to develope in the last 20-30 years and what their NT has accomplished so far is a laughing stock. Despite the wealth, modern facilites and plenty of football academies, it's becoming hard to find semi decent English football player.

I am telling that right now the English players are getting filthy contracts even though they are lousy in their EPL, why would they risk going out and to get lower pay. They rather sit on the bench for Everton to get the big pay check then come and play for Milan these days.

On paper there is little between us, you could even argue we've been playing better than them this season, but we have some kind of psychological block against this lot, which is hard to understand. Anyway if Wenger doesn't go gung ho as he usually does, I think we might have a chance.

Look at Arsenal for example. Theo Walcott gets paid a lot higher than Santi Cazorla, that to me is absolutely unacceptable, but its the reality of the market. English players are overpaid in the EPL, so even if they were willing to move abroad, I doubt foreign teams would pay their wages. I mean would you be willing to pay Theo Walcott upward of 6.5M euros per year?

The difference between now and the barren years is that we actually have a decent squad that just needs a few additions. If a few factors come together, its not impossible to expect us to challenge for titles more seriously in the coming years. The fact we've been inconsistent this season is completely on Wenger, he has a decent squad, some world class players, and he now has the money to make the additions he needs to make our squad as competitive as the likes of City and Chelsea.

One of the factors that has to happen is Wenger leaving obviously, and a proper proven manager to take his place. Either that, or Wenger needs to change substantially, he needs to become more pragmatic in his tactical approach, and be more ruthless with under performing players. The former will never happen, because the board is happy with Wenger, so I'm clinging to the hope of the latter.

Because of our game against City at Ittihad, its hard to predict. If Wenger goes all out in attack as he usually does, we'll be dismantled as usual by United. If he sets us up to be cautious and hit on the counter like he did against City at Ittihad stadium, then I think we have a good chance of getting at the very least a draw. I've never been convinced by this United team, and I really would say we're the better team this season, but Wenger's approach to games against the top sides is suicidal.

This might be wishful thinking, but I feel Wenger will be more pragmatic in his approach and will play this one cautiously, if that happens IMO we'll get out with a draw.
