Buys Lallana for 30 mill = flops
Buys Markovic for 20 mill = flops
Buys Lovren for 20 mill = flops
Buys Moreno for 12 mill = flops
Buys lambert for 6 mill = flops
Panic-Buys Balotelli for 16 mill right before the start of the season. He flops. Everyone, including Rogers, blames Balotelli. #notascapegoat.

They have gone exactly as I said they would, it was so obviouse.

All the signings, they have not improved the 1st team.

As a first 11, we are still better than them.

Still a bit too early to call them another Spuds, but already this season looks like it is spiralling out of control. Scrapping for 4th place is probably not what the club had in mind after last season, but if you sell a player like Suarez there is always a chance things will take time to balance out.

I'd still convinced Markovic will be an excellent player, and Lallana is already good enough and will settle easily. Lovren is much the same, he hasn't gone from brilliant to a turd overnight, but you see Southampton's defensive record this season and wonder.

that's why selling stars is almost never beneficial. In fact Zidane's sale was probably the only time in history where it benefitted both parties.

They are ALL good players, just not what they needed. Spurs the same, all good players, but not what was needed.

The way Everton went in the summer was how I wanted it.....go ALL out for that 1 striker, rather than another £10 million mid-twenties striker.

They kind of had no choice, but it looks like they not even tried to replace him....just try and buy more 5-10 goal attacking players to replacate his goals!!

Signing 2 Spanish full-backs was a mistake too, they need to be solid at the back....signing these was never going to improve that!!

But then again, you're not showing it either.
Thats true, but its only 9 games in, and we have played all the top teams.....by Sunday night, with be back in the top 6 and above Liverpool, again.

We just want to maintain.

I think it is wise to wait to see what the impact on their team will be when Sturridge returns, might make a big difference for a player like Balotelli.
Well, you said in the summer you will end 4th, then you will need to win against top teams to do that.

Do you think they should have just spunked all the Suarez money on Falcao right away and left it as it was? I don't think their squad was deep enough to do that, considering the CL.

They basically expected Sturridge, Sterling and Coutinho to be fit and firing, and for Balotelli to suddenly stop being mentally retarded.

No I didn't. I said that will be our aim, and we have a good chance of getting it.

I honestly think we will fall short though, but we have a chance.

I think they should have not just signed the current plavour of the months players, like they always do.

Sturridge coming back will not improve the defence, but I do take your point on them missing him....just like us and missing our best players too.

Coutinho has been fit all season, just been dropped.

I agree that you will fall short, the squad is missing just that bit to be top 4 in a league like the EPL.
Jagielka is no Kompany/Terry
Barry is no Fabregas/Toure
Lukaku is no Aguero/Costa
Howard is no Courtois
etc.

Agree we will miss out, but its the 2nd choice right back, and back up centra backs and wingers that are the issue....Barry n jags are a plus for this side in europe, as they have experience.

True, having to replace Mirallas with McGeady doesn't help your cause.
