They spent like 150m or so and still no effect. What was the point in buying Mata for huge amount last year if he is on the bench at the moment because of Di Maria. And why they bought three (literally, three) left backs for total amout of 50m (Shaw, Blind, Rojo), whereas they still don't have proper centre-backs.

They didn't allocate their money on right targets. On the contrary, they reinforced areas in which they already had quality players.

Its so funny, I was literally reading Pirlo's book before this game - and he mentioned how he would never be a coach but said that if he built a side, he would start with the defence and midfield saying the expensive attacking players are great for some really nice goals, moments and ticket sales but they do not build the foundation of a successful team.

Which brings me to this Man U match. I was watching it and even when they were leading I got the sense that they had no composure in defence and midfield. They started the match by cramming Van Versie, Falcao, Rooney, and Di Maria in the starting 11. You can only do that if you have legendary central mids and a rock solid back 4 - which they clearly do not. The team looks extremely unbalanced.

I know Man U has signed mega sponsorship deals etc, but man, they might start panicking if they spend 150m and don't even get into the top 7 let alone the top 4.

Nice career-move, Falcao....

Could've been killing it alongside Tevez both in Serie-A and in the CL, but opted to play for a relegation candidate that isn't even in Europe (and won't be for some time).

We never stood a chance to sign Falcao. We can't attract players of his level, so it was not even an opportunity for us.

Without Man U's interest, it seemed it was a decent chance it could happen. Falcao and his agent gave their OK to Juve, but then there was the loan fee.... Not saying we would've ever paid such a loan-fee, but we weren't really far off from signing this player.

Just one reporter came up with the news, to me it looked like a dream and pure media BS.

Getting Falcao requires paying heavy, so even an expensive loan does make sense.

Our targets were Pereyra, Evra, Romulo and Coman. Do you really think we had a chance for Falcao? I surely don't.
