yeah the problem at man utd is their youngsters... :sergio:

players like januzaj couldn't save them last season, blackett has played in most of the pre season games and impressed and even if man utd had a host of good youngsters they aren't going to get them CL qualification

their problem was poor strategic management once again.
i just say that van gaal overestimated the youngsters at man united. blackett was horrible and not ready to play in shaky defend. janazuj isn't an unknown youngster
I wouldn't be suprised if van gaal ends up in first four spots.

Barkley out for 5 months, real shame @Pablo

He's a great player to watch even for neutrals.
It is a shame, gutted for the lad. Looking for positives, but it will take him away from the spotlight for a bit, too much pressure was starting to be on him.

People wanting him to win us stuff on his own.

Time for Naismith / Mirallas to step up.

Naisy played very well saturday, decent player he is.

Look at United defenders.....shocking, absolutly shocking.

Not 1 of those would get in our team!!!

Indeed, it will be an expensive two weeks for ManU because the players they now have, won't do the trick.
For me, they need 3 defenders and a central midfielder.

They have a huge problem with signing players that would help them in a position. They are obsessed with huge names and huge fee's.

Loads of lower cost players would improve them, De Jong for a start....even Garreth Barry would improve their defensive midfield.....but they cant be seen as signing City "Rejects".

Ron Vlaar, Caulker, Hengalaand, Ashley Williams would all improve United Central defense.

Its really surprising LvG didn't call on Vlaar yet as he did great with him in the WC!
True, but can he also do it an entire year?
And as Pablo said, it is not a shirt selling name is it?

De Jong would be a terrific signing for them, he will help that struggling defense so much.
And then a CB and they are a lot better.
Also, Fellaini did good things when he entered the field, especially in ball recovery. Don't get hwy he is benched over the d*mb*ss Fletcher.

He doesn't have too many options now if they are missing on Europe.. and who knows, he might turn him into a shirt selling player very soon.. just a few solid displays and his shirts will start flying.. if Gal is obsessed with the selling point from the beginning rather than building a squad then the man has gone nuts!
Plus I don't thing the current defensive players he had sold any shirts anyway.. so shouldn't be a big loss there tbh..

Because he sums up the whole 'Moyes' thing. He is a much much better player than they saw in a United shirt, most football fans know that and the treatment he has got from them fans tells you that he has no future with them, feel for him.

To use one of our new players as an example, Besic. He would have added some bite to their midfield....but not the name they seem to be expecting....

United needs some time..i trust Van Gaal. Surely, they will not be the champions this year, but top 4 is a realistic goal.
This ManU? Doubt they will reach top4. Maybe that 4th spot but then van Persie will have to repeat his 1st season with ManU, else it won't happen IMO

this seasons man utd? it is arguably worse than last seasons whilst the other top 4 candidates have strengthened or consolidated their position in city's case

I was thinking about de Jong too. I think van gaal learned from the problems at barca in the past of bringing to many dutch guys. he is linked with everyone doing well for him in the wc but wouldn't be suprised that no one will arrive.

no idea if vlaar will do so well for the whole season as he did in the world cup. he
already did great last year for aston villa.

I don't know, but i can trust a coach like Van Gaal. Also, the transfer window is not closed yet. Surely, he will take another CM and a CB.
not to sure about it. he isn't a guy to do panic buys. if the right cm and cb aren't not possible to sign he won't sign anyone.
He then will play differently. Van Gaal always needs time to improve everything. A big adventage for them is that they are out of europe so he has the time to make the team understand his tactic better.

nobody is doubting van gaal as a manager, his cv speaks for itself, but when you only have 1 left/wing back in the team (shaw) and released both ferdinand and vidic in the hope that smalling and jones will turn world class over the summer that is not going to help. you can't polish shit regardless of the manager in charge

I can agree with you! Anyway, i read a lot of reports about Di Maria and United. IMO, is the most realistic option for them while they are close to Rojo for CB.
United, hasn't that bad team but they need time to improve. I would like to see, if VG will change his tactic.

di maria ought to be one of their lesser priorities right now.

I still expect they will sign a good DC and MC, which is why I think they'll be ok. Obviously if you play a defense of Smalling (lol), Jones, Evans, Blackett or whoever then it is going to be pretty shit, especially with Ashley Young and Jesse Lingard as wing backs.

I mean really, Van Gaal must know that is totally imbalanced, those are solely attacking players. Shaw and Valencia could pull it off, and obviously he was dealing with an injury crisis so thought that was the best he could do. He's got two right backs there (Varela, Vermijl) but played Lingard. It's one thing to go with the bold option, but the correct option is the only good one.
