going from newcastle who are far more likely to survive in the premiership than palace who have next to no funds and fighting relegation, and he's probably going to earn less money at palace as pardew had a long term deal at newcastle
Perhaps you should look further into Pardew's situation up north.

His move to Palace makes sense to any rational person of a normal intelligence.

what situation? so he may not have full control over the signings but at least mike ashley has been very patient with him. You think pardew will be allowed to build his own team at palace? they are battling relegation as it is and to join them midway through the season is retarded to say the least, the summer may have made more sense at least he would have a proper transfer window to work within but then again Tony Pulis left palace last summer because palace couldn't even meet his demands on the transfer market, i highly doubt things would be any easier at palace for pardew

Extremely unpopular among the Toon fans, being told there's no money in January, Sissoko might be sold, Mike Ashley being contempt with the current state of Newcastle (lack of future project), Londoner, Old favourite in Palace.

Assuming Pardew is there only to save Palace is naive. Pardew is part of a project in Palace and project he wanted to be a part of. Whether or nor Palace's gets relegated will not chance that much for Pardew in the long run. If he wanted a 'safe' job he could have stayed. Clearly he wanted something else and in that sense the Palace job isn't as laughable as you make it.

he's unpopular yet he is a stable choice the lack of direction at the club is not to do with pardew if anything he has done remarkably well during his time and could really do a lot worse and they probably will if they don't choose their next manager correctly.

I still think moving to palace at this stage of the season is stupid the club's owners were already in question when pulis was driven out as he felt the club had no ambition it's hard to think what is in it for pardew in the long run
