Yeah, players like Van Persie, Rooney, and Di Maria have been huge for them. Their defense sucks ass tho. Even their midfield is decent at best.

Speaking of mediocrity, did anybody see any of last night's game? Absolutely terrible football from both teams, passes all over the place. United had three shots and scored twice.

Gary Neville has created a backlash from LvG for saying that the upcoming game between United and Liverpool could be "like the Dog & Duck versus the Red Lion" such was the poor quality. This is a United side that have somehow won 5 straight games playing a massacre of a formation.

No need for throwaway mediocre comments in this thread, it's real and evident.

It really is real and evident. I watch a lot more EPL than any other league (given the amazing coverage of that league in this country) and this season is the worst I've seen, since like the late 90s. Some absolutely terrible games, mediocre play from most of the top teams as well. Arsenal, Liverpool, United and even City at times have played some dreadful stuff, and lets not get started on the teams lower in the table. The fact that a Sam Allardyce lead team is killing it at the moment is a sad indictment on the current quality.

As an avid EPL follower, there is no doubt that the standard of the EPL has been in decline for many years now. English teams are just not up to standard these days. No arguments there whatsoever.
