Only the older fans would genuinely think that. Younger foreign fans no longer perceive Liverpool as a threat as much as city.
i don't think it is so much about threat, history of hate runs deeper against liverpool and their fans than they do with city who up until recently were just pitied much like we do with torino yet our hate runs deeper with the likes of inter

if it's not this season it won't be for a long time yet
Most likely.

This summer and in the near future they won't be able to challenge City, United and Chelsea financially. And of course, they won't have the privilege to play 10-15 hard matches less than all their rivals. Suarez will eventually want to leave and Gerrard will likely be broken if they fail this season.
Even in a weak serie A a financially inferior team like Roma or Napoli struggles to win a scudetto. With terrible Inter and Milan, and with a brilliant record of possible +90 points, one of the giants (in this case Juve) betters them. If it's not Juve, it's gonna be Inter or Milan. It's much harder to win it in England if squad wise and money wise there are always 2-3 clubs superior to teams like Liverpool.

i agree. Liverpool will be back where they have been the last few years unless they spend the 100M from Suarez in a legendary way and make a competitive squad which is not likely at all.
