Italian refs are the most competent technically, but they are affected by so much external pressure. I've seen people from other countries comment positively on the performance of an Italian ref in European games, quite often actually. An Ajax fan was saying as much about Luca Banti recently.

Put them into Serie A and it's just madness. I think the pressure in this league would crush the PL clowns, to be honest.
Totally agree with the whole post especially the last sentence. It's not that being Italians makes them bad in referring, the pressure of the media after those games (in serie A) what's making their decisions during games pretty bad.

But still can't deny that not a single week past in serie A without a really odd and result changing decision is made. The funny thing is, I remember Italian refs being "much" better before calciopoli.

Pellegrini is a horrible coach. A step down from Mancini who is a good (but not great) coach. Chelsea is the only team that took a step forward with signing Mourinho even if Rafa was doing a good job.

Barca, PSG, UTD, City all hired weak coaches.

Pelle is a fine coach imo, he has achieved wonderful things in his career so far with Villareal and Malaga. It's the EPL we're talking about, the competition that is the hardest to win for any coach.

I'd say Mancini was great for City too.

Two losses and a draw so far for Pellegrini, and 6 goals conceded in those games, that's very poor.

United are equally as bad, Felliani is turning into United's Andy Carroll absolutely horrible player and at 27.5 million it gets worse.
