:shifty: The GI Joe Destro, or the Pudgy Higuain lookalike last spotted in Roma?! :D

I'd rather take the east route to victory. Let's get our 3rd title first, and then in 2019 or 2020 we can follow your trajectory.
Only way I'd be pleased with the easy route, is if it was full of controversy and butthurt. I want lots of gold di muntari and reds.

I love that the same people always lamenting how injury prone our midfield is, are now agreeing with this German about how great Bayern's is... When he lists Thiago and Javi as starters... as though Thiago and Javi Martinez are the healthiest of players.

Javi Martinez last 2 seasons: 2010 minutes total.
Sami Khedira last 2 seasons: 2530 minutes total.

Thiago last 2 seasons: 3520 minutes total
Miralem Pjanic last 2 seasons: 6700 minutes total

Arturo Vidal last 2 seasons: 6850 minutes total
Claudio Marchisio last 2 seasons: 7020 minutes total

So our 3 best CMs have played a combined 3800 minutes more over the last 2 seasons.

But it's our midfield that has injury woes. :howler:

And for the record, when healthy:

Marchisio > Martinez
Pjanic > Thiago

Vidal > Khedira

Our midfield is easily on par with theirs.

In what world is a healthy Thiago Alcantara a better midfielder than a healthy Marchisio or Pjanic? Catalunha?

With Khedira, Marchisio and Pjanic healthy, that midfield is easily on par with Bayern's and only a slim downgrade from the spaniards. The problem is the healthy bit (or, in other words, the lack of adequate depth) and that's why Juventus' midfield is, in fact, not on par with these teams and would need (at least) another starter level player to compete.

Needless to say, Matuidi's lack of technical ability won't help bridging that gap.

On this subject, by the way, I'm amazed by the so often written 'he plays for PSG' argument when they actually never managed to go through CL quarters, even with the super team they have. Big factor indeed... in fact, I could be willing to bet they will go up a notch this season without Ibra (or rather the Ibra/Cavani duo that never worked against big teams) and Matuidi near the starting eleven plus Emery replacing Blanc.

My list of strikers from the past few seasons as far as performance goes would be:

1st tier: Suarez, Ibra

2nd tier: Higuain, Lewandowski, Benzema

3rd tier: Aguero, Cavani

4th tier: Aubameyang, Lacazette, Icardi

Völler

Always spot on

First three tiers are pretty much spot on. I'd put an injury free Aguero in 2nd tier though.

Also, join our fantasy league, dude! :D

Or its simpler, Thiago is a top player, would hold to Pogba and Verratti standards if he wasn't injured at times. While Vidal is a complete monster. Those two alone I defenitely see as better then our midfield right now. Let's hope we buy someone that change that equation.

Couldn't care less about Bundesliga. Only top league I barely watch except occasional highlights.

No way.. he is nowhere near that level. Watching highlights it may see so because he is amazing technically, which makes for great highlights. But he usually underperforms 3 out of 5 games, where he is basically invisible and an absolute non-factor. No consistency whatsoever.

Personally Khedira>Renato Pjanic>Thiago Vidal>Marchiso that's 2 out of 3 so it's not superior to us but that's just me. What I was really getting at is that this is the transfer thread where we talk about hmm..... Transfers. Not Dortmund 2.0
You are right we are talking about transfers and not comparisons but the whole thing is to say our mid isnt strong enough so we need to strengthen it!
The comparisons you made should have been in another matter but lets roll with you
Khedira vs Renato Sanchez - Khedira is actually a very good player but I`m sorry you really underrate Renato Sanchez who is a great young talent who will be WC in no time! great coup by Bayern! winner Renato Sanchez!
Pjanic vs Thiago - Thiago is actually a talented player but only a Bayern fan should say he is better than Pjanic... winner Pjanic!
Vidal vs Marchisio - I wouldnt even start this comparison as its not even a close one! winner Vidal
2 out of 3? yap for Bayern!

Also what you forgot to mention is what else they have got! - Xabi Alonso who is still great! Coman who is a great young talent! Ribery who isnt a CM but is a midfielder (dont know how good he is now but he is still alive so we should mention him) Robben might be a winger so I dont know if you want to count him in or not.. Douglas Costa - You forgot him but I still remember how he troubled our defense over and over! If theres a player I`d take from Bayern its him! he is simply WC

As for transfer wise - It all depends on the formation - if we keep the 3-5-2 a box to box should be the priority now - He should be great attacking wise while he should also know to defend!
If we change formation then 1 attacking gem and 1 physical player!
BTW the attacking gem might not be needed for purchase as Pjaca might be it but its too soon to tell!
