That's very true. Currently I'd say we lack a player like Mata who has imagination, vision and very good through passes. He's definitely a player that prefers to play in the middle, so in theory he'd be a perfect AM for us.

Overall I'd consider him and eventually take him based on what our alternatives would be but also how much Mata's would cost. To get that killer ability we definitely need a creative AM more than a hard working one. Having both would definitely be the best but that's obvious.
I agree that we are lacking that type of player but I just dont rate Mata very much. I would welcome a player like Pastore even though he is lazy as shit and can be frustrating at times. He does provide that extra magic that we are missing from time to time.

:D I don't know how anyone could ever want someone like him at this club, especially given our history of players.

The guy's got 0 grinta, no heart, no blood to give and walks around like he's shopping in the mall. There isn't a single "trace" of the Juventus way in that lazy body of his.

I'd pass even for 15m.

Juve have always been about team work, but its not like we did not have a player before who did not put in much defensive work. Del Piero and Baggio is two of my favorite Juve players of all time and they were not exactly hard tackling grinta sort of players. If a player adds something extraordinary offensively it is accepted that he dont contribute much defensively. That being said Mata is not that player.
Yeah, but they were support strikers, not midfielders

We've got Bobby P and Hernanes as playmakers and people here think we're too good for freaking Mata because he doesn't have enough Grinta :howler:

Sure he's not ideal for boot it and run premier league football but that's not what we're playing here

I'm failing to see the logic here, yes we got Hernanes but that was a mistake, now you're proposing we make another?

And who's Bobby P? Pereyra? :shifty:
I'm failing to see yours....Hernanes is shit so signing an immensely better player would be a mistake because they're both playing the same role? Obviously if we sign Mata it's not going to be because we plan on playing him as CM in a 3-5-2

yes

Hernanes wasn't shit at Lazio. we hoped to sign that Hernanes. Unfortunately we got Inter Hernanes. Sorry but Mata of the last couple of years isn't immensely better than anyone, really, plus he always had the laziness of a sloth to add to his downsides, not only slow like Hernanes, he's l-a-z-y.

No, it would be a mistake because he wouldn't add the work rate we require. At least that's what I get from Allegri's Juve where even the CF is required to track back and help. So one was an honest mistake, Mata would be a knowingly one.

Platini was as slack as Baggio and Del Piero, but he was the best player who ever wore our shirt and was above the rule

Zidane put the expected amount of work and defensive duty as expected of a midfielder

Comparing current Mata so either player, is a huge insult tbh

I am comparing the defensive contribution not the talent. As stated before Mata does not have the skills/ Impact to be a luxury player at Juve.

And who the fuck does in insult?

Renato Sanches? I think United are already offering €25m for him, don't think we will be matching that kind of bid.

    Mata :tuttosport:

I'd take him over the likes of Oscar who "run" 10/10.

We have more than enough ruuners, another bit of magic would be more than welcome, plus he isn't as lazy and slow as some of you are making it sound.
