It's not like we don't have 400 young players circulating around Italy so yeah if a couple of WORLD CLASS oldies are coming on the cheap then i'm more than happy. It's not like Alves wouldn't massively upgrade our offensive play and before the 'But he can't defend' brigade appear, he's more than capable.
Problem is he blocks out a potential youngster moving into that slot. Not a healthy deal for us unless it was a one year contract. Three years for a 33 year old is just taking the piss.

Can you really say with any faith that we have some young superstar full back ready to compete with Lichtsteiner in our midst already? Yes in the ideal world we'd have some wonderkid fullback waiting to rotate but in reality we have Padoin and Cuadrado a Chelsea loanee waiting to fill in.

At this moment, I'd rather go in for Bruno Peres than Alves if that's the qualities I'm looking for. Of course a signing like is suggesting that we will likely lose Cuadrado, and spend big in the midfield or attack with the transfer fee saved on Juan.

Bullshit.

When we had Asamoah, we got Evra cause no young opportunity. We had one later with Alex Sandro, and he has not been blocked, he has been very good.

Same situation. Dont pay big for young cause young. Get the temporary fix and meanwhile keep searching.

long enough to win us a CL and for Buffon i hope :)
On a sidenote

I'll say it here first.

If we actually get Mascherao, he'll keep Marchisio on the bench or competing with Khedira for RCM.

Damn man. Imagine 'argentina NT' mascherano cdm performance. Good lord.

Also. hey people. If we get Mascherano it means we arent getting Pjanic or Gomes. Just so you know.

Alves on the other hand, confirms we'll let cuadrado go.

If we do this, you are spot on @Xperd . This is an actual CL push

Rofl, what a peasant thing to say. Marchisio competing with Khedira. We're lucky if Khedira is fit enough to be there at times when Claudio needs a rest
I would sell Khedira if a good offer comes

70 min player on high wages.

If we get Mascherano that is

Rummenigge:

"Mario was told everything clearly and seriously, he knows the club's position and how the coach feels about him ... I had talks with him and Ancelotti, too. Mario knows the thoughts of FC Bayern, maybe he just wants to play the Euros in peace.
Mario has to decide for himself: does he want to play continuously?"

He couldnt be more clear, its game over for Götze in Munich.

IMO the reason that he felt the need to say this is, that the statements Götze gave lately have only one purpose and that is to run down his conttract to leave as a Bosman in 2017 and that must be indeed avoided. It seems obvious that the club dont plan with him anymore that is contrary to the BS Götze saying.

No hiding for him anymore and the pressure ll only go up from here, so better to think again clearly, if its a good idea to stay.

Its okay man, we might get Mascherano, who is hands down better then any central midfielder Bayern has.

Reference : absolutely owning Germany in the world cup. You can thank his forwards for clowning around all game so Götze could score in extra time
