He was in our youth system for many years, until 2004.

Actually he might not qualify since for a player to be home grown, he need to spend 3 years between the years 15 to 21 in the club. He played for our youth sector before 15.
See, I didn't know that he was part of the youth sector until 12 years ago.

Send Lapadula out on loan then, dont need him. Its very stupid though, a player that played 8 years in our youth teams doesent count as homegrown. They should change that rule as soon as possible
What they should have done, realizing the number of squads in Serie A that use loaned players, was to have a clause in there that allows for loaned players currently on a Serie A roster to count towards that.

Did you guys pick up on that last line of my 2nd quote?
I think we could just fill a vacant HG spot with someone like Mandragora who is U-21.That's how I read it.

Yes, I picked up on it, but that is even more confusing.

Do they mean the Italy U-21? Do they have to be on the National team at the time the player is registered? With the selection process being so fluid, that opens itself up to a lot of ambiguity

Someone here posted some time a go more detailed rules and it said you can register up to 25 players (4 of which are homegrown) but players that didn't turn 21 at the beginning of the calendar year are excluded. So we can have 21 player + 4 homegrown (Marchisio, Marrone etc) + how much ever U21 players we have (Diawara, Mandragora, Donsah etc)

The one somewhat unclear thing to me was what qaulifies you as a homegrown player and if it's the same as in Championsleague, which Xperd cleared up above

Beppe before the game.

“Pogba and Dybala are the core of the team, so we will not sell them. We only sell players who want to leave.

“The first objective this summer is to consolidate this group by keeping the best players, only then will we look at the market.”

Today La Gazzetta dello Sport claimed Juve had 'booked’ Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes for next season at a cost of €25m.

“Andre Gomes? He is of interest because he is an excellent player, but many top European clubs want him too. He’d suit Juve well, but I don’t know if we’ll be able to sign him.”

Cuadrado is on loan from Chelsea, but there are reports Antonio Conte wants the Colombian winger back at Stamford Bridge next season.

“We’d like to keep Cuadrado, but we have to discuss it with Chelsea first,” noted Marotta.

“It’s only natural Conte will try to keep the best players. Cuadrado has been very important for us, so we’ll evaluate what can be done.”

Juve are consistently linked with Paris Saint-Germain talents Edinson Cavani and Javier Pastore.

“Cavani depends on whether PSG want to sell him. I am always talking about quality, as this has been our growth process, adding more and more quality each year.

“We’ll see, so much on the market is down to whether other clubs want to sell their best players. Juventus very rarely have sold their best, we only release those who ask to leave.”

A great (unlikely) mercato for me would be keep our current team while adding Cavani and a creative midfielder
An Amazing (but very unrealistic) mercato would be keeping our current team while adding Cavani and Dembele
A good mercato will be keeping our current team while adding a creative midfielder

We need to find a way to keep all out players (Cuadrado and Morata included) while strengthening our team!

Yeah, that means looking for a versatile midfielder and defenders. We dont need forwards and creative midfielders ffs

@Osman said few days ago that he's definitely homegrown, maybe he knows more about it.

It would be helpful if we could look it up. Does anyone know if these rules are available online in detail
Its dumb as shit rule, its like saying Fabregas isnt homegrown Barca player. Lapadula spent time in club from 6 to 14, thats a fair amount of time. Weird to break off the criteria for this assessment from 16 onwards.

Beppe is starting to sound less convincing about Cuadrado staying at Juve, might have to get the player and his agent to make a bit of a fuss? He seems really settled at Juve at least.

So he basically confirmed that we want Cuadrado, Andre Gomes and Cavani for next season, on top of not losing Dybala and Pogba, but that the three potential moves would all be difficult. Nothing about Morata this time.

Its retarded indeed, the guy spent 8 years here. They need to change it from the current rule that is between 15 and 21 to just until a player turns 21. same goes for CL, they use the same rule

chances are that we will lose one of cuadrado and morata
and one of pogba and dybala.
If not money is our criteria, but the will of the players, then its more possible to lose Pogba and Morata.
So they will be replaced by someone inferior to Oscar and Gedge, someone like Gomez
And Morata's 30mil will be used on Berardi.

So after downgrading from Pirlo, Vidal and Tevez to Khedira, Pereyra and Dybala, we are bound for a second downgrade...
To compensate the quality loss, i m sure that Beppe plans to bring a new batch of mediocre 15mil CMs to strengthen our numbers!
