First time I saw Andre Gomes was when the Valencia-Real Madrid game was on TV which ended 2-2. I hadn't even heard about him before then.

He caught my eye instantly. Fantastic ball control and technique. He's amazing in tight spaces, and those 1-2s were deadly. I saw him again in that Barca game, that's where his pace was exposed. He can't push the ball for too long, too slow for that. But if you get him the ball in the right areas he's effective. His passing is top notch as well.

He was in our youth system for many years, until 2004.

Actually he might not qualify since for a player to be home grown, he need to spend 3 years between the years 15 to 21 in the club. He played for our youth sector before 15.

He doesn't have to and he probably won't. He needs to be there just in case. We have to somehow fill those 4 HG places. You promote the best kids you have. I see no other way.

It's not like I disagree but the new squad rules are there to be introduced with the start of the next season. All 20 Serie A teams accepted the change, we have to fill those youngsters somewhere as only Marchisio counts as HG right now.

If Lapadula isn't home-grown than there is no space for him in this squad even if Zaza leaves.
Either that or we'd need to trim down our midfield options by selling at least 3 players to cut down the squad to 25 as per the new rules.

Since we need to fill 2 HG spots,it practically becomes a squad of 23 for us next season.

Well if your analyze is correct then we are getting the type of player we need although some pace wouldnt hurt..
