Yeah I was. Fletcher's through ball to set up RVN's goal was nice and Rooney took his goal well after good work from Ji-Sung Park.

United ran out 2-0 winners in the end. Villa kept Van der Sar and his back four a bit more deligent in the second half but the Red Devils were good worth for a relatively comfortable win. The gap between them and Chelsea is now six points.

How did Villa played???

They were decent but the difference in quality between the two sets of players showed. Villa started the game well and actually looked competitive in midfield but their players don't have the same technical expertise that can attributed to Van Nistelrooy, Rooney and Fletcher and once Utd took the lead there was no way back for the home side.

David O'Leary made a positive change at half time by bringing on Angel but in doing so Villa became more vulnerable at the back and Rooney's goal effectively ended the game as a contest. Villa tried to fight back and Baros hit the bar but once Man U rode the temporary storm dished out by Villa it was clear sailing.
