maresca78, im sure ur not the only one with those predictions. noone think chelsea's spending power can be beaten, so they win the league. man utd's got a reputation of winning the premiership, so u put them second. liverpool one the CL, so they have to be in the thereabouts. spurs just signed davids, so they have to be competitive too. and arsenal lost their captain, so they go way off from being either winners or runners up for ages now, to fifth.

cmon, this is hype ur following. it'll be most probably the same story of the top two (well three with chelsea), and a surprise team being very competitive
well your declaration is very logical. But I can explane my thoughts this way:

1. chelasea is a very compact team. they have a great coach and they bought and still buy good players, so that they have a great midfield..

2. ManU is strong, but if you belive it or not, I think their problem will be midfield. I just can not belive that they did not buy any players for central midfield.. But because the team is unchanged I think they will be second, if Van Nistelroy gets his old form back.

3. Liverpool had allready a strong team and a good coach and now they really have selfconfidence and will give everthing to win the title but at the end they are not strong enogh for chelsea and ManU..

4 Totenham: not because of Davids but in the past years they have been allways good. I think this season they be even better...

5. Can you tell me what the problem of Arsenal was last season?? so if not I can tell you.. Arsenal have very good and talented young players but they are still not good enogh to replace viera. and this was their biggest problem last season, the bench is not strong or experienced it is a big mistake from arsenal not to buy an experienced midfielder... if they buy "Jeanes" they will be better.

fair enough, but looking from arsenal chelsea matches, there wasn't much difference between the two teams quality wise. arsenal's season last year wasn't a bad one at all, it just seems bad in comparison to chelsea's. i honestly do not think that they will be able to have as good (results wise atleast) a season as last season, so i think it'll rather be foolhardy to place them as outright winners.

fergusson is making a huge gamble with united's midflield. it'll be interesting to see if smith can adapt to a midfield role, like it has been rumored he will be having to do this season. but with van der sar in goal i reckon united's defence is gonna gain a heck of alot of confidence and perform very well.

liverpool didn't do anything special last year. they didn't play great football, and their win in the champions league wasn't anything extroadanary either. i seriosly doubt that they will be a significant title challenger next season.

and tottenham, well in all honesty i can barely ever think anything nice about them, so im not going to make any predictions.

The thing is Chelsea is the richest club in the world, and still they have no "galacticos". They buy players for twice their worth, and so they get overrated.
Arsenal will win the Premiership this year.

The thing about Chelsea is that they indeed pay too much for the players they buy, however usually they make the right choice for all the money they spend. Chelsea are like the automobile shopper who can afford any car he wants, however just decides to find the best car that suits his needs, whether it be a Ferrari, Mercedes, or VW. You must admit Chelsea are smart buyers, and that is because Jose Mourinho knows what he wants and has a talent at finding the players that will do the right job for him. Their transfer policy is much more intelligent than, say, Real Madrid's; buying all the supposed best players in the world. Look what they have done in the past two seasons...absolutely nothing. And due to Jose Mourinho and his plethora of talent, they will win the EPL once again and reach the Semifinals of the Champions League.

and what can real do with their Galacticos..???

Chelsea buy players which are wanted by the coach and can do their job very good.
Real buy players which are wanted by their president an he just wants spectacel like in a circus...
This is the main differnce between chelsea and real. and because of this chelsea will be very successful and real not...

I agree with Andy on this one. sure, Chelsea often pay more than a player is worth, but that doesn't mean that the players they are getting aren't excellent.

now lets not overdo chelsea's qualities. they're a really good side, and they have huge mounds of cash, but that doesn't change the fact that chelsea have made poor buys in the recent past.

If he joins ManU, I can feel a tough competition for Chelsea.
Actually i don't....IMO they are still not strong enough,to give them a tough competition for the whole long season.

Cicinho could be coming to the Premiership
Manchester United are keen to sign Ј8m-rated Brazilian right-back Cicinho, who BBC Sport understands has flown to England for talks at Old Trafford.

The 25-year-old Sao Paulo defender would not require a work permit as he qualifies for a European passport through his Italian grandfather.

Milan and Juventus have also been tracking Cicinho, who is tipped to replace Cafu in the national team.

But United seem in pole position to sign the player on a four-year deal.

Should he join United, it could signal the end for Gary Neville, whose brother Phil left the club to join Everton last week.

And it may go some way to appease fans concerned there is no money for transfers following Malcolm Glazer's takeover.

Its comments like these that get on my nerves...

Why exactly? Tell me really how Chelsea are so superior? why the hell make comments like this is your not going to actually say why?

Exactly what do Chelsea have superior? Money, and? and?

This is the last time I do something like this, so pay attention.

Formation: 4-3-3

Goalkeepers
Van der Sar was easily one of the best goalkeepers in the premiership, he is an excellent shot-stopper, his catching and his handling are also very good. He is experienced and knows what its like playing at the highest level, both domestically and internationally he has over 100 dutch caps, he is assured and breaths confidence into his defence, he is agile and instinctive and one of the best keepers i've seen in one-on-ones.

Defence
You have Gary Neville, who is one of the best right-backs in the world, he is consistent, excellent in both defence and attack. Rio arguably the best central defender in the world, he is the most composed player I've seen, when on the ball he can bring it out of defence even under pressure. Silvestre is the weak link, he is accident-prone and that makes him a liability, overall he is a good defender, but something I think he has 2 left-feet. Heinze, player of the season last year, if I had to describe him in 2 words it would be, determinded and tenacious. I wouldnt swap him for anyone in the world.

Midfield
Fletcher is a very good young player, I say Fletcher but this is the most rotatable position in the team but I'll use him as he is the most adeque for the job, his problems are he is too easily knocked of the ball, but his passing and tackling are very good, physically he needs to be stronger. Keane is now the weaklink in our midfield, for the simple reason he cant cover has much distance as he used to, that is why we play 4-3-3 to accomodate him, personally I wish it was still 4-4-2. Scholes is a great player, one of the most underrated playmakers in the world, passing is his biggest attitube along with scoring you know with him you'll easily get 10+ goals every season.

Attack
Ronaldo, where do I start with this kid, he is fast, his pace is a nightmare for full-backs, then you have his trickey, he can make defender think they can easily tackle him and next thing they know he has gone around them, my only problem with him is he sometimes keeps the ball too long, does a trick when a pass is more effective, but that is his decision making, and that will naturally improve with time, ability-wise he is among the very best of wingers in the world. Ruud van Nistelrooy, I laughed myself to death reading comments from people about him, apparently he is a useless striker...yet 37 goals in 40 games (I checked) in Europe for Man Utd, he is the most effective striker in Europe. and 127 goals in 3 years...hell if he is useless, does a useful striker exist? Wayne Rooney, he is amazing...I dont even like him but he has the potential to be as good as Maradona was, he is big, strong, he is surprisingly fast, he is smart has good vision and his power is amazing, he can score incredible goals and simple goals, in fact besides his temperment which isnt really a problem, I cant find a problem with him.

Now, ffs if your only going to reply with a stupid  smiley dont even bother, because your an idiot, I am sick of the idiotic comments without backing up what the person is saying when they write them.
