'An offer for Owen is said to be unlikely unless [Louis] Saha can be moved on, which will entail a considerable loss for United, who would be lucky to recoup half of the £12 million they paid Fulham,'
- from the Times

Of course, it could just be made up, but they usually don't IIRC. Also mentions Owen's wages (£5m/year - that's £100k(~€150k)/week) as being an issue.

I wouldn't be shocked if it were true.

I reckon Fergie would sooner use the available cash to bring in a midfielder like Essien or Ballack. They don't really need Owen.

Rumour has it that they're getting the latter for free at the end of this season. Essien is probably priced out of their range while Chelsea are even remotely interested.

Yeah, going after Essien wouldn't make sense now that his price tag has been inflated so much by Chelsea's interest.

No, the top part of my sig is someone else playing around with it, personally I perfered the "Besmir is a hot piece of ass" that was on before that :D

And I didnt even know he had left  Not to be confusing but I didnt think it would happen, but I guess at the same time it isnt so much a surprise really. Klebs next to leave and then in comes Ballack or Essien without doubt.

I think he should have left much earlier.. ManU has the Money to buy players.. I think it will be important to buy essien or Ballack for this season..
