Of course, Keane cant play week in week out anymore, but he is still the best imo. Look at the Liverpool Vs Man Utd game. Gerrard who I think, is probably the best in the world right now, even though I hate him. He was completely out-matched and out-played by Keane. Keane can still compete with the best, and he is doing well, with someone like Fletcher next to him, who will do alot of running and tracking back, something Keane can no longer do for 90mins he'll be brilliant, there is no player in the world I'd want as my captain coming into a big-game. People will talk as much as they want about Vieira and Makelele, Gerrard and players like Emerson, Xavi etc etc. But Keane is the best, he can still dominate and complete the biggest games.
But it'd be interesting to see him compete against Gattusso. :D

No, but I get very annoyed when people say players who obviously arent crap, but people say it, Keane is one of the best, and it annoys me when people say he isnt, okay i understand that people have different opinions, but only a fool can have a different opinion about Keane, because those who have seen him play know exactly how good he is.

Like I said, if you want to learn how to get a great footballer, watch Man Utd Vs Juventus 1999.

At the Delle Alpi, this was also just after he found out he wouldnt play into the final (yellow card), but after that he still personally made sure we were going to the final, and it all started with him scoring the first goal from a Beckham corner!

K, sad to admit, he played like a god in that match, but I'll put it down to the fact that 1999 was probably our worst season.
Still wish that Zidane was in that one.

Huh? Zidane was in that match, I remember because it was him who Paul Scholes fouled to get HIS 5th yellow card, meaning he would also miss the final.

Sorry, I had to check my notebook (have this little book where I've been keeping records for years now).
Zizou played, I put a red 'x' on his name for poor performance that day. As well as Birindelli, Perruzzi and Conte.

Keane was good on that day, I admit.

See, Zidane did play, I remember bceause I though Zidane dived for it at first, but I have seen it and it was a foul, but no way was that worth a yellow card, Scholes missed the CL final, because of an idiot ref!

Roy Keane , great player and a good captin

BUT
considering him one of the best in his position is a crime to honnest ,, played like a god in that game !? so would that justify including him with the best ever ?! no way

i can't see him in my top 10 best defensive midfielders of all time

No! He has played like a god, consistently for 12 years at Man Utd, if you cant see him in the top 10, then you havent seen him alot!

i have seen him more than u think ,
this season his best games was againest liverpool away and newcastle away..

but he pasted his best for the last 2 seasons already ...

i think not considering butt in the lineup last season was a huge mistake especially after his worldcup performance

He wasnt at the world cup. Keane is good enough, his form especially in the last 6-7 weeks has been brilliant, he is returning to the Keane of old, He is still good enough to dominate any game, and especially does well aganist the biggest teams.

Erm, Nicky Butt doesnt play for United anymore, we sold him in the Summer to Newcastle, and now he has a long-term injury. This is the reason why Newcaslte are buying Amdy Faye from Pompey for 2m!

As much as I really, really hate manu, I do admire Keane, as he is an extremely good player. Gerrard did not play well against manu, which made things easier for Keane, but that does not detract from how well Keane played.

I dont know who would be in my top 10, there were many greats, I have seen loads, but for me Keane is god, on form, he is better then all the pretenders around these days, Gerrard, Vieira, Makelele, Emerson, Gattuso etc etc.
