I think what Sarri thinks of Can can be seen in the friendlies - Khedira always started the games when he was ready and Can was just a rotation for him. In fact he started only in first friendly when Khedira and Rabiot were still not ready. That speaks volumes - Sarri prefers Khedira to Can.

Or maybe Khedira is a backup for Ramsey while Can is a backup for Rabiot.

Rabiot/Can being the most brutal/defence oriented one while Ramsey/Khedira the one with licence to go forward.

Me too, but i have a feeling that he will end in Bayern before the window is closed. They are currently looking for a more defensive minded cm WHO Can play as 6. No rumours that i heard but a personal feeling that they might go for him.

There is a difference in approving/disproving certain players and having a list of players ranks per position that Paratici acts on. But like you said if he prefers one player but say Khedira cant be moved Paratici will move on and make the call HE thinks is neccesary to trim the squad and keep the books tight

Bayern have never been interested in Can since his departure 6 years ago and believe me, whenever u read an article about an interest in him, then u r reading an article of a clueless idiot.

I think he is a player you must keep. IMO you can have specialist players in your starting XI, but it's more useful in your subs to have some versatility. Can can play CM, CDM, CB, and RB. He is technical & strong. He has his limitations, but he is about as good as you can get for a bench player that can play multiple positions.

Matuidi & Khedira are much more limited. Although Khedira I think will work in the system. He is a system player. Coaches love him for that reason. He is very good at doing what coaches ask of him.
