Ranieri: Tiago Is A Flop
After a year of doubts, Claudio Ranieri, has finally given his honest opinion of Tiago, saying the midfielder is a flop.
The Old Lady signed the Portuguese player from Lyon last season but, as soon as he arrived, he just went downhill.
He never managed to convince Ranieri or the club on the pitch. Time and again he was woeful.
The ‘Tinkerman’ has finally realised that Tiago needs to be sent on a one way ticket out of Turin and he has described the midfielder as a flop.

It's interesting that even the 16 year old, Wiltshere, was perfectly capable, many times, in crossing from any angle with either a still or a moving ball. Trez must be so frustrated.

I was translating the Italian article in another topic and Ranieri said exactly what i've said above. He said that some players do flop and it's hard to understand why but he never said that Almiron or Tiago are flops.
Like i said, from what he said it was easy to notice how he's implying that the named players floped, but he never said they are flops.

Yeah, that's a translation DiDoz - obviously Ranieri was originally quoted in Italian - and the phrasing of the English translation was decidedly different on the CH4 article... which was much more diplomatic, and clearly closer to what Ranieri would have said. He did all but state that Tiago's performance had been much poorer than expected, but he was not nearly as harsh as that sensational garbage from Goal.com would have one believe. They love stirring up shit. I wish they took a little pride in being accurate. He was basically just saying that all of Europe can appreciate the skill level of Tiago, but for whatever reason, the player has had a difficult time adapting to Serie A.
Also, Tiago should never be mentioned in the category of the best CM's in the world. He was never anywhere close to that level. He should be much better than he has been for us...and he clearly has some quality... but he has never been amongst the best in the world. Ever.

A nice guy like Ranieri wont come up in a press conference and say: "Ladies and Gentlemen..... Tiago is a flop", and according to the article you translated he admits that Tiago isn't doing a good job at Juve

I didnt read the italian article (as I don't speak Italian) but I concluded that Ranieri meant that Juve's Tiago isn't as good as Leon's Tiago maybe because he didn't adapt to Italian football or any other reason, but it has been a year now and still Tiago's performance is still medicore, and if he cant adapt after a whole year then we most probably won't adapt at all

we started the first half with : Buffon, Chiellini Melberg, Grygera, Molinaro, Sissoko, Tiago, Nedved, Marchionni, Trez and Iaquinta, only DP and Camo were missing from our usual starting 11

Almost all the players you named played what 45 minutes whilst most of our guys yes first teamers played all of the matchs... only to put on Ekdal and Rossi towards the end, in return wenger took of eboue and senderos to bring on some of his other big boys and to leave most of the kids on. The match doesnt tell us anything apart from the fact that yes we did take on a weak Arsenal side and were not too convincing.
Anyway regardless its a friendly im sure or I hope we could do better if/when we meet them in a competitive match.
