yes, odly enough, neddy is not yet our captain.

emo didnt lead the team to the finals....the team did fine without him, i wouldnt say the team depended on him like we did neddy.

emo didnt play in the tourniment, which was completely down to the team, not emo.a tourniment is different to one game.

Emerson didn't feature in the World Cup :groan:.
We don't have to adore him because he was such a grand captain Brazil made it to the final stage right? I mean, it's freaking Brazil of course they qualify. And it's not because they qualify they necessarily win the tournament so no, he wasn't a world cup winning captain. Cafu was.

I think it's normal Nedved isn't our captain. After all Del Piero has been here much longer and has played much more games for us than Nedved.

Thanks. I got quite annoyed with the fact you apparently have to like Emerson. Though I like him, but I don't think it's fair you're being forced into liking him.

Emerson didn't feature in the World Cup because he was injured . He was the Captain and would have been the World Cup winning Captain had it not been for that shoulder injury he sustained while training.

That ruled him out for 4-5 weeks.


He was replaced by Ricardinho.


The new Brazilian coach apparently doesn't like Emerson and hence he hasn't featured since.


Emerson is a powerhouse in midfield and you will see what he is capable of this season.

I've aready said I'm neutral to having Emerson, mainly because I was more concerned as to why Mexes and Ferrari were joining Roma while we did nothing to sign them ourselves, especially as they were going for such small transfer fees. Our defence is still a shambles but no matter...........

They've better have their plans...I heard Lazio has strengthen their attack by getting Portillo on loan from Real Madrid. The last thing I want is our team to be behind Inter, Milan, Roma and Lazio...

Don't know exactly how much, between 12 and 14M Euros + Brighi.

Real's offer was 13 million pounds, which is around 20 mil €, while we payed 12-14.

Like Edge says, it's worrying that Roma now have the money for Gilardino

We won't be able to afford him, so where does that leave us? Out of form DP and Trez. No di Vaio as backup, so that leaves us with Zalayeta (oh no...) and Miccoli (which is good). Is that enough up front you think?

So Roma will get Mexes, Ferrari (after everyone was so sure we'd get one or the other) and Gilardino. Some of the most promising players around. It's worrying. Even if Roma have a bad season, they have young players for the future. That's not something we can really say.
