MILANO, 27 luglio 2004 - L'accordo con il giocatore c'era da tempo. Ora, da questo pomeriggio c'è anche quello con il club, la Roma. Due più due: Emerson è della Juventus. Lo annuncia Luciano Moggi, il d.s. della Signora di Torino, e così mette fine alla telenovela più lunga dell'estate. I dettagli li conosceremo più avanti. Ma le sorprese potrebbero non essere finite.
Il primo "pacco", il più annunciato e atteso (vista la volontà del giocatore e visto l'infortunio di Nedved) è arrivato. Ora Fabio Capello aspetta altre sorprese. Cesar dalla Lazio in cambio di Zalayeta e Chiellini? Potrebbe essere. E se così fosse servirebbe anche un attaccante. Trezeguet, Del Piero e Miccoli sono bravi, ma pochi per una stagione lunga come quella che inizierà il 12 settembre con un campionato a venti squadre, anzi prima, il 10 agosto con il pericoloso preliminare di Champions League.

After two months of arguments Juventus and Roma have finally managed to strike a deal that makes both clubs happy and Emerson has joined the bianconeri.
The news came from Luciano Moggi this evening after he left the meeting at the Lega Calcio but it isn’t clear yet how much Juve had to pay for the Brazilian midfielder and if any player will make the opposite road from Torino to Roma in exchange.
"We have met each other half way and I think that both clubs can be satisfied," the Juve general manager said. "Now we can finally concentrate on other things and Emerson can join his new team mates at the training camp".
