Stam = Top quality defender, but there remains a question how he will fit into the Milan system. And probably not the best of signings for Rossineri given his age.
Crespo = Steal of the summer IMO. Hard working forward that plays well with his back towards the gaol. Type of attacker who can complement Sheva really well and they dont even have to a single cent for him.
Davids = Old, but Inter got him for free and was the main driving force with Ronaldinho in Barca's late run in La Liga. Midfield dynamite that was lacking in Neazurri team ever since they sold Diego Simeone.
Veron = Probably passed his emculate best but given that he is on loan, and his style of play doesnt fit into physical EPL I think he is a good signing. If he plays anything to his potential, then Inter might just have the two best central pairing in the world. Furthermore, he can operate, and perhaps at his best in trequarsista role, giving Inter tactical variation and creativity.
Burdisso = A terrific CB with abundance of pace. He could have been real complement to our rugged old defenders IMO. And Inter got him for a peanuts! Surprisingly Inter has used their money well in this years transfer campaign.. Alongside Mexes, I think he can perhaps be the best signing in next couple of years time.
Ferrari = Real leader at the back with great sense of positioning. Equally comfortable playing as a Sweeper in 3 back or CB in 4 men defence, he is a rare in today's football. His ability to distribute the ball should not be underestimated in modern day soccer.
Mexes = A real talent, and arguably the best young defender in the world. Great man marker, leader, and excellent organizer at the back he has been compared to Laurent Blanc. Mexes's pace and physique should complement Ferrari's guile really well, and they could form real parternship with Chivu making Roma's defence perhaps finest in the world. Beside, Roma could end up paying less than what we paid for Legro..

And I havent mentioned Man U's, Real's and Chelsea's off-season signings. We have a lot to catch up IMO.

So I think we can all agree we're not able to match the transfers of Milan and Inter. I would simply love to have one of those four players in my squad. Just look at those names.

I'm sure Gilardino and Emerson are good players, I just doubt they're able to be as good as Crespo and Davids. To be honest, I don't see this Juventus winning against AC Milan. And actually, no matter how shameful to admit, I like Milan's squad a lot. I hate their club nonetheless though :D.
But you cant say that already since the transfer market isnt over for Juve. We are about to get Emerson and Gilardino!!!, plus maybe Oddo or Jankulovski or whoever. IMO i think that beats both Milan and Inter.

And by the way, the battle is on the field and not on the transfermarket ;)

I really cannot see stam reaching his best form in the current Milan squad, if u ask me he is now past it despite his form last season, i have never really rated the guy anyway so maybe i am a bit biased,

Crespo, No doubting his ability as he has proved to be a regular goal scorer, a good signing and i would have liked to have him in the juves squad as he is a big name player who can always deliver, However, his performances last year were well below average and his morale has taken a huge knock, hey maybe he may prove successful but i cannot see him being more than a bit part player and would much rather have Gilardino than him

Veron, Hasnt played a good game for over a year IMO, his style of play suits the italian league if he is used correctly, he also has low morale after 3 poor seasons in EPL, 3 years is quite a long time for a player to be playing badly and IMO the guy will have 2 work very hard to reach anywhere near his best

Daivds, Too old, I think he is often too much of a ball watcher, he only seems to play good on certain occasions and only played well at Barca because he wanted another Big-money contract. When this contract is secured i believe that he stops trying, he dosent even try when he plays for his country and also i would take emerson over him anyday

Thts wht i think guys, they r all big name players but i think there over-rated, whether u think the same or not is your choice, we'll know the truth in 5 months

Juventus director general Luciano Moggi says he is happy to make AS Roma sweat over midfielder Emerson.

The Brazilian international is refusing to move anywhere else but Juve and Moggi has hinted they may wait until the final days of the summer transfer window before moving for the midfielder.

Flush with the funds raised from Marco Di Vaio's switch to Valencia, Juve can now match Real Madrid and Inter Milan's offers for Emerson.

But Moggi said yesterday: "We're in no hurry over Emerson.

"The situation is such that we can wait to sign Emerson until after the Champions League preliminaries. We don't anticipate anything untoward to stop this deal."

Juve confident over Emo
Friday 23 July, 2004

Juventus have said that they could be just days away from finally signing Roma ace Emerson.

The Brazilian has promised himself to the Bianconeri but no transfer fee has been agreed between the two clubs.

"Emerson is a player that we are very interested in but common sense needs to be used," stated administrator Antonio Giraudo.

"Franco Baldini, Roma’s sporting director, is an intelligent person which leaves me optimistic that we can finalise a deal in the next few days. That is my hope anyway."

The Old Lady of Italian football have offered around £7.5m, while Roma want £13m or £10m plus Manuele Blasi.

Meanwhile, Giraudo was also asked to reveal whether any other players would arrive with Emerson.

"Only if the right conditions are in place, I’m obviously talking about the financial aspect," responded the official.

"We are not a club that buys for the sake of buying. We’ll have to consider whether any investment is compatible and useful.

"Juventus will only buy players that we need and individuals who have the ability to make a difference."

They are reportedly interested in Parma striker Alberto Gilardino, Udinese’s Marek Jankulovski and Massimo Oddo of Lazio.

Giraudo Confident Of Concluding Emerson Deal Soon

Juventus' Administrator, Antonio Giraudo, has expressed confidence regarding the transfer deal of Emerson from Roma to Juventus, which he hopes will soon be concluded.
Emerson's transfer saga has been going on for months now and the question marks surrounding this transaction have stalled the bianconeri's transfer market strategies. For this reason, Juventus are trying to seal the deal as soon as possible so to move forward in their squad strengthening campaign.

Giraudo stated on Friday: "Emerson is a player we are very much interested in, but there must be some good sense in this story. Roma's Sports Director, Baldini, is an intelligent person and therefore I'm confident on the fact that we can conclude the operation in the coming days, or at least I hope so."

I think that it's as simple as this: We either give Roma the money that they want for Emerson, or we don't get him. Moggi will probably hold out and not make the transfer then claim that we never needed Emerson because we have Manuele Blasi!! :moan:
