Please Deschamps, make sure that Moggi gets us some quality defenders this time round, and if you want to bring Rothen that's fine too.

05/20/2004. The deal that will take Emerson from Roma to Juventus seems to be nearing its final chapter as the giallorossi have declined a Real Madrid offer, thus all pointing towards a transfer to Turin.

Inter are also in the run for the player, however the bianconeri have taken the lead and with a 12 million Euro offer should be able to land the services of the Brazilian midfielder.

So in the next hours, Luciano Moggi is expected to sign another Roma player after succeeding in bringing Jonathan Zebina on a free transfer yesterday

EMERSON UPDATE

Inter back in Emo race
Wednesday 26 May, 2004

Inter are ready to take on Juventus in the chase to sign Roma midfielder Emerson this summer.

It’s understood that Juve have struck a deal with the player but they have yet to agree a fee with Roma.

That may allow Inter to hijack the move as they are understood to be in negotiations with the Giallorossi.

Roma and Juventus are not on good terms and capital chief Franco Sensi would prefer to sell Emerson to the Nerazzurri instead.

It’s been reported that the midfielder could cost as little as £11m as he wants to remain in Serie A.

That is well within Inter’s spending power but the northern giants may propose a player plus cash deal.

That option could interest Roma boss Fabio Capello who has his eyes on two Inter players in particular.

He is keen to bring back Cristiano Zanetti to the club but also net defender Fabio Cannavaro.

The latter, who has never really settled at Inter, could replace Walter Samuel who has now left for Real Madrid.

Some whispers suggest that Emerson’s agent Gilmar Veloz has already met with Inter, who are ready to offer the former Bayer Leverkusen man a four-year deal worth £2.2m a season.

He are, but unfortunately he isnt the only one to decide. If Roma rejects us and sell him to inter, and then buys our targets like Ferrari and Gilardino, well then I am officially a Roma hater too!!! :fero:

wou siamo, you changed you're user name as well, welcome to club... :D Don't worry, I think that Emerson is not stupid enough to go to inter, and inter is just chasing publicity with all these rumours (Davids etc)

Maybe this whole Emerson-saga is just some kind of Moggi-trick - draw attention out of the real targets :mute:
if those real targets are Gila, Rothen, Maxwell, Ferrari and Mexes, I don't really mind... :D But that's the situation only if we can get all of those mentioned... yeah, not going to happen :( :fero:

If Inter come in and get Emerson, and they include Cannavaro as part of the deal, might that just open up the opportunity for Juve to snatch Mexes?

It could aslo open up the possibility of getting David Pizzaro

No way for Pizarro, just not good enough... Mexes would be great though...

I thought Inter were going to get Cambiasso? I can't see this deal happening either.
I talked about this with my friend earlier (his a nerazzuri, otherwise his fine :D) He said that Inter is going to get Cambiasso anyway, because Almeyda is leaving, and so is Lamouchi... If Inter bought Davids or Emerson, they'll get rid of Emre or Farinos too...
