I don't get you Jay. You're a cool member and all but you seem to think everything is good when its not and you've been wrong for more than 2 years now. You're never critical when it comes to Juventus? I know you don't want to moan but why not just call them like you see them? Surely there has been plenty of stuff you didn't like.
I really don't know how I ended up with this optimist tag or whatever you want to call it (Society, Marotta etc, as if it makes any difference to my life what happens to people I'll never meet), I'm not like that as a person, there is no vested interest in me doing it and as a Juventino it's as frustrating as ever to see our situation. Believe me, it's not good and may not be again this season.

One thing I will say is that with Juventus right now I don't aim high, I start realistic and then watch the moves that happen. In the past I'd be the first person across forums talking up the team and shouting down others in comparison to Juve, but that was a different Juve and the financial side of the game now is even more against us than when we had a great team.

Not for long. Even if it is by means of attrition with Milan and Inter being in a world of shit in the next year or so with the FPP rules in effect, Juve will be the most financially sound squad in Serie A for the foreseeable future. Whether they can compete with the likes of Barcelona, Real, or Man City is another matter entirely.

But remember this. Even those teams have limits on the amount of players they have on their squad. They can't just go out and sign everyone they want in the future.

Licht will give us stability at the back on the right, something we haven't had since pre-2006. For that I am happy. He may not be Thuram or Zambrotta in their prime but he can defend, his strong, relatively injury free and and comfortable on the ball...plus he seems a hell of a lot smarter than Grygera/Motta.

If we could bring players like Maicon then we would all be singing a very different tune right now but we can't at the moment, so we will have to settle for Licht and believe me as we all know could be much worse than it is now.

A good GM would take the 'cast offs' from those teams, attraction aside. I still can't shake the feeling that we aren't going to attract big players with no CL. What would Moggi do?

Exactly, I mean at one point, there won't be any place in Barcelona, Real and City and thats were we should step in and try to be a good alternative.

Yep. Lichtistner is 27, and was at a mediocre Lazio side, wtf has he achived before? lol never even heard of him before.
Melo came from a medicore Fiorentina side and that was like what 7 clubs for him? Yet everyone loved him here and what has he achieved?
