It's worrying that any player that shouldn't start for Juventus, apparently sucks. I think this that is a good summary of the guy though. I like that he's a quick little player with good ball control, adds a new dimension to the team of athletic wide players with lesser technique (Pepe and Krasic to a much smaller extent). I'm not keen on what this might mean for Pasquato, however.
I think that he will stay. He will bring an element of versatility to the squad, which will mean quite a lot considering that Juve cannot afford to have a very large squad to begin with this year.

Its also pointless bashing any "not good enough" player we sign, but guess what, we do, and should. And Conte's is way more vital of a signing and mistake/gamble to make then any mediocre player we sign as backup. That is something I hold Marrotta accountable for the most. Just because someone is hired, doesnt make them any less of a questionable choice or lacking in competence to be able to take us where we need to be taken (out of utter mediocrity).
You are right I`m convinced
Lets fire Conte and fire every replacement Marotta finds untill he makes it right or... We could bash the one bad thing that brings the mediocricy...

Conte while unproven to be a good manager for us also didnt prove to be a bad one
Marrota has proven his lack of ability last year and could have brought better players this year IMO
So if you want to whine do it on someone who has proven not good enough like Marrota

Hey, I'm not excluding this to only Marrotta, but he is the one that has the mandate to run the club day to day, and coach choice is big part of that. But what do you base what you just said on? Conte doesnt need to be his close ally as Del Neri was, but still I see no indication he didnt want Conte too all the same, out of convenience more then anything.
My theory is quite simple, even if others will think it is incorrect.

Marotta was coming to a new enviroment, and wanted to work with a coach that he had a decent amount of success with. It didn't work out, so it's plausible to assume that he did not have as much of a say in who the next coach was going to be.

The biggiest mistake Marrotta IMO that Marrotta has committed up to this season, isnt any of the signings, but the choice of the coach. Way way more vital choice then whatever backup player one says.
That too but with the players he is signing he is making it even worse than it already is.

Marotta must have promised him a transfer after that miss, or even before that and that's why he missed.. :paranoia:

I know he played a role to that, the way he played lipservice to the appointment, but I have no reason to believe Marrotta didnt want to hire him as much as Agnelli. It was the "safe" choice for them, not first choice, they arent that dumb, but still the quick choice they made after failing to get some options.
That's probably true, many are saying that Agnelli is just a puppet. Though even Moggi said that Conte was Agnellis choice, then again not sure what Moggi's word is worth anymore.

A lot of players would improve on last season, but the question is how much do you want to improve? Giaccherini is sure as hell an improvement over Pepe/Marchisio but shouldn't we aim higher? And as I said, I'm not talking about bringing Mata, but somebody in between. They've got so much money yet the most impressive signing was Vucinic.. Its sad.

licht is not a world beater(not even top 20 RB), but his signing is compounded by how big of an upgrade he was which says more about marotta's earlier choice for the position last year. As for vidal is pretty much a gamble at this point, very unproven with one year left in his contract, so lets not get all crazy, marotta has no negotiating skills.

I don't think it would be unfair to say that Lich was one of the best RBs in Serie A last season.

That said, do note my use of the term "Serie A", which immediately disqualifies most anybody from "world beater" classification.

Can you name these 20 right backs better than Lichtsteiner please?
