Both Giaccherini and Pepe have been performing well this season, but there were times where we could have used Elia and he was not even selected on the bench, which makes me doubt why we even bothered signing him.
Some of the times Krasic made the bench, yeah it seemed like a waste to not have him instead, but the Siena game was probably the first time I was properly skeptical of the bench.

As for why we signed him, with the long contract he was given it seems like Elia could be a project. He's arguably the least disciplined of all the summer signings.

Honestly, I don't even expect Elia to be that good. I actually think he'll get benched when we get to see him properly. He was awful in Hamburg.

I'm sure there were other times where he wasn't even on the bench, but I'm not Buck, I don't have an Excel sheet with my personal records of each game. Whenever he played, he did perform decently enough though, especially in Coppa against Bologna. That at least should have merited him the bench like it did for other players you mentioned.

It could be, but it doesn't necessarily mean we're handling him well.

:D

Apart from that Coppa match, the only extended game time we've seen of him in a Juve shirt is the Catania game where he was taken off after a half. I can't really say if he's being handled well, because he looked quite involved in one game and quite lost in the other. He's been on the bench 10 times without being used though so I guess I underestimated how far he was away from the first team. I suppose we'll just disagree for his Juve career up till now, because I still see why Esti/Giach/Pepe have often been chosen before him.
