According to Werder's CEO Klaus Allofs Elia passed his medicals. The same article in Bild mentioned that he should sign a permanent deal tomorrow that could net us around 5.5 million in transfer fee.

That Conte wanted him is something only the interviewer says. Elia then says "when Juventus wants you", he doesn't speak about Conte. I think it's pretty obvious that Conte never wanted this player. Conte treated him like a 'persona non grata' from day one.

Oh yeah, he did say that

    Now I'm confused :andy2:

Kidding aside, who knows, maybe he did want him in the beginning. But if he did, he certainly didn't make it show!

    :agree:

if Conte wanted Elia he would have played him a decent amount. I doubt he even asked for Esti and he played a lot more.

    Good luck to him.

To be fair to the guy, he actually never b*tched and moaned about his frustrating time at Juventus. He might have said in recent interviews that he's looking to move on, but that's about it. Didn't hear about him not showing up for training and stuff like that. He did what it could, but it wasn't meant to be.

I was actually really exciting when he came here. I thought we would play with him and krasic on the wings and was pretty intrigued as to how it would look. Unfortunately it didnt work out and he wasn't a part of conte's plans so i hope he finds a competitive club where he can play regularly. Still very young and has alot to offer. All the best eljero
