I know about his potential/talent or how he can be at his best, I seen enough of him in Twente back then, and he impressed me, past tense, because clearly showed later that he such a frustrating useless trickster with no end product. The main thing that annoys me is we are relying on him as starter in an important position. If he signed him as backup, which we seem to have done with Estigarribia, while signing some immediate impact/consistent/proven LW that we need, I would get it. But I do not like us relying on an inconsistent fuck up like him. We could have gotten several better choices, earlier in the summer. This is what happens when you prolong reinforcements for priority positions.

To put it simply, we can say as usual lets wait and see, and cross our fingers he will fullfill his potential, but I'm sick of saying that, everything he has done in a footie pitch last seasons suggest he is not good enough to start for a top club (or would be top club like we are nowadays). Dissapointing/unimpressive signing.
form is temporary, class is permanent. someone with guido "jersey boy" rossi as his avatar should know a thing or two about that

Well this guy insulted us(he was not misquoted) and i'm not gonna forget about that.
he seems like he's as much an egocentric snob as balotelli is who thinks too much of himself, a grown up child i say.
I watched a coupla his preseason games and seemed pretty insignificant to me.
all that said, i hope he grows up and can make a positive impact here and be consistently useful to us.
I like Balotelli, I would take him in a heartbeat!

He seemed happy in Germany, his club seemed far from desperate to sell. Hamburg did Ok last season, as did Elia, who also remained throughout on the fringes of the presently number one ranked nation in the world dutch team.

Conte has shown already, as a manager and always as a player, that he likes players with his kind of professionalism and fierce desire to succeed. Why else would we have loaned out Melo??? We were not desperate for the $...he was our best player last season. I assume it was Conte, who thought there was no room in his vision for the team, for Melo's suspect temperament, no matter fine a player he can be on his day. Also, our other signings have been mentally strong people. Pirlo, Vidal, Lichsteiner, Giaccherini (yes...any man who nearly dies from a football match, then fights back, all the way to the top, well, near the top, has an iron will), pazienza, estagarribia (talks of grinta often). Ziegler is no lightweight mentall either, very sturdy, like most swiss folk. all of the players we have brought in have a great mentality. So why would Conte agree to, even request, this signing, of a player who some of you assume had little interest in Juventus, a dodgy ego and a tendency towards childish shows of foolishness???

Where is the evidence of him desperately wanting to play for Arsenal? Its not that hard to find links between elia and liverpool, arsenal, juventus...are they all true?

I am happy for the addition of a left winger of real pace, some trickery and the desire to beat players and get into the box. Estagarribia seems more a 'hug the touchline then make space to cross' kind of winger, pasquato is more a 'break through with pace then have a pop from long range or cross the ball' player.

Add in a CB like Alvez, who alongside chiellini will make our central defensive area extremely solid and brutal, and Beppe deserves some serious applause...but i will leave talk of praising Beppe alone, else it will be followed by a flurry of the same old brilliant posts by the real niggahs on board...:ahmed:

Look at the top teams in any top league in europe right now. Its evident that its not just mentality that allowed them to reach great heights in competition. They have the quality to back it up. We lack that quality in some important positions again this season despite the squad as a whole being a mild a improvement.

Bottom line is the Coach.

On paper Juve has a quality squad.

Was that necessary? I now know what JCK and Kyle are talking about, you always do this in your posts. Get a grip.

Giaccherini almost died?
its his attitude since then that has helped him achieve a fair amount. Almnost gave up on the game, but came back all guns blazing and has, from what I have read, exactly the kind of spirit that Conte demands of his players. Different to pepe...who to me is a very hard worker, but lacking bite with that determination. little giaccherini seems to me, far closer to a Conte type of determination. whereas pepe may still be cracking jokes in the changing room after a terrible display, or a draw at home to Venezia, the likes of Conte and giaccherini would be steaming with rage, disappointment, and itching to get back out there to make amends...of course...its just my view. But trauma and struggle often makes a man stronger or weaker, one of the two, and in the little man's case, its definitely the former. Some of the few goals I have seen him score are more down to bravery and determination, than amazing technique.
