Those wingers will have to get passes from someone..

No regista in a 4-4-2? In the middle?
I wouldn't call a playmaker in a 4-4-2 a regista but maybe I have a misunderstanding of the term. For me, an ideal 4-4-2 is with a destroyer and a box-to-box midfielder.

A regista in my perception is a deep lying playmaker with proper protection, 4-4-2 diamond or a 4-3-1-2 are formations with such a function.

But as I said, I might be wrong in the definition of regista.

I dont think a regista will come either, but I my point is; people calling for one makes sense. We've needed one since serie B.

Field the team? I dont know, i'm worried about our attack and possesion play.
As you should be. I'm always worried about it because clearly it's not good enough.

We should set up a donation on this forum. Whatever people are able to donate every mercato window and leading up to that point we give to Juve with a list of players we "require" they "attempt" to buy with "our" money.

Yeah, I can see that working. :shifty:

Pepe can be used in a 4-3-3.
    Oh...never knew that.

I agree we need one. I just say that we have Marchisio, Melo and Sissoko. Having one for a 4th choice would be weird if he's some expensive player. Personally I'd buy Poli now.

I thought you were speaking about starting position. And btw, there aren't many good registas around...even for a lot of cash. With our options, there isn't any besides Ledesma who sucks at that role.

You still mis the point.. I agree that with the current crop and money we'd need to change too much in too little time to fit the regista in. I'm saying that a regista would've helped us a lot over the years though.

We have a similar definition, but I think in a 4-4-2 he could have enough protection as well. Look at Schweinsteiger for example.

But I don't see Schweini as a regista, I see him as a dynamic midfielder and these are rare nowadays. We are both reaching the conclusion that we lack a proper central midfielder anyway.

Schweinsteiger is dynamic for sure, but he is turning into a regista more and more. For Germany especially, you'd see him sit deep, set the tempo and pass around while Khedira did the runs up and down.

Honestly I haven't given up on our central midfield though. All three midfielders have good potential, but all have some improving to do. Melo needs to get his head straight, Marchisio needs to show himself and Sissoko needs to work on his decision-making (he'll never learn to pass ;p).
